You Canadians are putting on a great show. I was unaware of the great beauty of BC. Been there twice, went to see my wife's relatives and somehow didn't look up from the freeway.

Your athletes know how to sing your national anthem, the US athletes should take a good lesson from you. Good work, I'm enjoying the show.

My wife has been watching also, and noticed the same thing. Maybe if the national anthem was in spanish, we might have more that know the words. Tragic.

I have trouble carrying a tune in a bucket, but I DO know the words.

Around here and lots of other places, like athletic events of the local race track, the singing of the Star Spagled Banner has become like American Idol or the Gong Show. Done by wanna be Divas, Country Western amatures, and others who seem to think they have license to improvise.

Out of respect for the way it should be presented, I usually mute the sound. And play the version stored in my head.

It is true the USA national anthem is not an easy one to sing, yet it could be mouthed. "America The Beautiful" is sortof our 2nd national anthem. I must admit that I do prefer it.
