Thats not the start of an early front wheel drive Novi V8 indy Roadster?..........only a guess but I'll check my Offy history book tonite............whatever it is I like the centrificul blower mounted at the front........yum.....andydc

I have the Gordon White "Offenhauser" book........no pics that show the Novi, did a search thru google, the pics on the main Offy site aren't real clear but my money's on it being a Novi.......Offy's BIG brother.........FWD and trailing 1/4 eliptic springs........whatever it is, I'd happily donate my left gonad for it................yummy.......I LOVE alloy, DOHC's and centrifical blowers........imagine the gear sounds!!.......andyd

Andy I agree withthe possibility of an Indy entry. The FWd looks like a Cord, but they never had an OHC production engine, thier v8 was a Lycoming built deal. Might also be a LAND Speed vehicle. Looks a lot heavier built than its indy contemporaries.

It's froma series of photos that supposidly came out of the Los Angeles area, which lends it self to dry lakes or Bonneville venues.

All the one off cast stuff is certainly auto porn.

Offys were all dual overhead cam 4s I believe. I thought he NOVI's were Studebaker based, but perhaps that was later on in the 40/50's.
