JIPJOBXX
One of my best friends past away about two weeks ago and he was so well liked that over 200 people gathered in there hot rod, restored cars and just plain nice old car for a tribute to this wonderful gentleman. Here are some photos taken of the gathering of cars that left Port Gamble Washington to pay homage to Van Smith. His cars were the 56 Buick's that lead the way probably followed by at least 100 or more behind. Nice to know when someone leaves this earth that he was well loved and will be mist. captden29
sorry to hear about your loss. i belong to a club in wilmington, NC,. we lost our dear founding member and had a caravan of cars just like yours. i suppose all the clubs around the country do a similiar tribute when a member passes away. we had 53 cars, but the city would not give us a police escort. that would have been nice if they did as the trip to the cemetery was only about 3 miles. his name was clem eubank. dennis
greg g
Always sad to loose a friend but it made a bit easier knowing so many folks held him in such esteme and provided a tribute to what he enjoyed.
David Maxwell
...whom I'm sure will be greatly missed. What a beautiful tribute, location and collection of cars and their owners. I'm sure he's smiling.
