JIPJOBXX Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Well its going to be in the 20's this week and what can I say but I should be in Arizona! But talking yesterday to a friend who is in Parker Arizona it was down to freezing down there also. I decided to finally get out to my old Dodge last night and check out the Antifreeze and wouldnt you know it it was in need of some. I guess I just forgot to top it oft this last summer and just put in plain water. Good thing I did check it out as I was sure I had the proper amount of that stuff in there. Oh yes couldn't fine my testing gage and so I bought another one for a dollar done at the big "W". Of course tomorrow I will see it right in front of me somewhere around here. Did start the car up and with the hand choke it started right up and purrs like a baby (But a baby that in need of changing!). No only kidding but its nice just to have it start right up. Have a nice cold day you guys and thanks for all the info that I have received here over the years. Jon:) http://s2.photobucket.com/albums/y4/1942dodge/?albumview=grid&fullsize=DSC01697.jpg Quote
Normspeed Posted December 6, 2009 Report Posted December 6, 2009 Hi Jon, it's been dipping into the teens overnight here, so yesterday I re-installed my heater core and hoses. Nice and warm in the old P24 now. I lost a pint or so of coolant plus the core needed to be filled, so I topped off my 50/50 blend with pure coolant. Should be good to go for the winter. Happy Holidays! Quote
PatS.... Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 Daytime high here -5, down to -13 tonight. Big dump of snow Friday/Saturday, bad roads. No antifreze needed, car in garage plugged in...stay home! Quote
TodFitch Posted December 7, 2009 Report Posted December 7, 2009 I think we have just gotten the weather that was in Bremerton the other day: It's currently 40F with rain and projected freeze tonight when the rain moves on. Much colder than usual, not just for this time of year, but for any storm in this area. I guess it will give some good snow in the mountains but the snow level will be much lower than usual so the roads getting to skiing will be much worse. Quote
