Joe Flanagan Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Yesterday my new flywheel bolts from Valley Vintage Auto Parts arrived. This afternoon I got the flywheel on and the nuts torqued down to 55 PSI with no trouble. As some of you know, I had a moment of doubt concerning a freeze plug in the front of the block. I couldn't remember if I installed it when I built the engine. Plus I saw an old picture of the rebuild in progress that showed the plug missing. So yesterday I pulled the timing chain cover and plate to check. The plug was there. I reinstalled the cover but now I may have to take it off again on account of my timing marks being slightly off. One step forward, one step back. Quote
RobertKB Posted November 28, 2009 Report Posted November 28, 2009 Joe, we enjoy the drama although you might not. Keep us posted. Good luck with the project! Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted November 28, 2009 Author Report Posted November 28, 2009 Yeah, I can see that. I know that when Pete Blueskies and Jim Yergin had problems I was tuned in every day to see what happened. Quote
PatS.... Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Nice to know your making some good progress though, Joe. Better to solve these problems now that after it's in the car. And...you'll be an expert when you're done. Quote
