Olddaddy
This is an early cable car video of a run down a main street in San Francisco, circa 1909. Just three years after the quake and fire that destroyed much of the city, life goes on. Cars galore, a great look into the past of my favorite city. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=08c_1259288206

dparksie
Now was great! Spent most of the time looking at all the cars and wishing.
David Maxwell
...found this footage from Barcelona Spain in 1908. Just a year earlier and half a world away, but human nature and behavior make it seem as though it could have been shot in the same place on the same day. http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=f4f_1238469767 This is an early cable car video of a run down a main street in San Francisco, circa 1909. Tony Cipponeri
Great video, I guess you just made your own lane, doesn't matter which direction you are going. I bet there wasn't such a thing as jay walking. Tony C
maine48ply
Wonderful stuff. The Barcelona video appears to be more staged, where everyone is aware of the oncoming camera, like an inaugural run of a trolley?
RobertKB
Great videos and thanks for posting. There seem to be fewer cars in the Barcelona video but still very similar to the San Francisco one.
Don Coatney
I believe the street is Market Street. When I was working in SF I rode the electric trollies on this very route from the hotel to the Federal Reserve Bank and it is located on the right at the point where this film clip ends. The tower at the end of the street is still there today and the trollies look the same today as they did in 1907. Thanks for posting this film clip. I actually got to drive one of the electric trollies at a museum a few miles north of SF.
