Don Coatney
How many here use a creeper when working under your vehicle? Yes? No?
Merle Coggins
I do when I can. Sometimes I need to get under my truck without jacking it up. Then I'll just slide around on the ground. A piece of cardboard will help insulate the cold of the concrete and allow one to slide around a bit better. Merle
Oldguy48
I usually do, but I've found that these days I still need to get it higher on the jack stands to clear my belly.
T120
I use one,I'd like to have a lift, but don't have the height in my garage.I'd probably be a lot cleaner at the end of the day if I had one though
1940plymouth
I also use cardboard, just easier for me to get back on my feet, than getting off of a creeper, ain't as agile as I use to be:)
dirty dan
I rarely use a creeper. It seems like whatever tool/nut/rag I need seems to find it's way under the dang thing.
Joe Flanagan
I've been known to wear a pair of creepers occasionally when working on the car.
40phil41
I use a piece of carpet to lay on when under the car(s). Phil
RobertKB
I have a nice creeper but have only used it once. I think if I could get my car higher on a good set of stands I would use it more often. I usually use cardboard as lots of others appear to. P-12 Tommy
I use an old comforter to lay under the car. I, also can't get the car high enough to use a creeper. Tom
maine48ply
As a beginner, I am finding that I really really want to use my creeper, its so soft and moves me around so nicely.......however, I need to find a way to get the car a bit higher. It seems sometimes, its just not practical, the room is more important.
Rodney Bullock
I use a big section of memory rubber:)very confortable, I have been known to fall asleep;) I can't afford a creeper. I had a wood one on wheels however I broke it.
JerseyHarold
I've got a creeper and only used it once or twice years ago. I just throw down some cardboard and slide under the car.
oldmopar
use my creeper all the time have bone it has a low profile
Norm's Coupe
I also use a creeper. Mine is one that is lower, and, it's nice and soft. Can just roll under the car on a nice warm day and take a little nap. Maybe for those who can't get the car up high enough aren't jacking the car up by the frame. I use a 3 ton floor jack and jack it up almost as high as it will go, and that gives me lots of room to roll around under there. I also use a roll around mechanics stool when I can. Much better that stooping down.
wills 51
Cardboard for me, Have to agree I need taller jack stands to clear the "GUT"
jimainnj
I never could get used to a creeper, I use the lift now still have to get used to ducking.
james curl
usually I need to brake loose a realy tight bolt and can not find a way to brace myself to get a really good pull without the creeper rooling around. I usually use a peice of 1/4" masonite to slide under the car and lay on.
David Maxwell
... I find it's still too tight unless I run the P15 up on some ramps I have.
Niel Hoback
Sometimes I try to use a creeper, but it just turns out to be more trouble than its worth.
BeBop138
I have a Kwik Lift it gets me 20 inches up to the bottom of the tires--so on the Chrysler I can sit up under the car. The streetrod is another story but much better than using jack stands and a lot safer. Some how I can see the wheels turning in Don`s head---why do you want to know? Jerry Roberts
I'm a skinny guy so I slide under on a smooth plastic tarp , no jack needed . Zip ! quick and easy .
dparksie
No creeper because no garage... Would if I could. I keep looking for one with all terrain tires:rolleyes:
David Maxwell
Can't remember if it was at Kragen or Harbor Freight or some such place, but they actually had one with air filled knoby tires. Kinda like those little red wagons that come with them. No creeper because no garage... Would if I could. I keep looking for one with all terrain tires:rolleyes:
P15Mike
If i'm doing something where the car is on stands , i use the creeper . It seems more often than not , its not on stands and find myself using an old comforter that the wife was going to throw away about 3yrs ago . Like already stated above , gotta watch it sometimes , that comforter get's mighty comfy ...
