Normspeed Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 At that price for NOS, that looks like a great deal. No pitted pot metal. Quote
Frank Elder Posted October 31, 2009 Report Posted October 31, 2009 No pot metal to pit Norm, that is formed stainless steel sheet. Quote
Normspeed Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) Goes to show you what I don't know about Dodges! (edit) Frankie, are you sure that's stainless? I saw this pic posted by Boxer_inv of a D24 down under. Would stainless get like that? Edited November 1, 2009 by Normspeed Quote

RobertKB Posted November 1, 2009 Report Posted November 1, 2009 (edited) Whether that grille is stainless or chromed pot metal, it is a steal at that price. Somebody on this forum with a D24 should be jumping all over that. I have seen grilles like that go for over a thousand. If chromed, it would cost you more than that to replate it. If stainless, it would just need a good buff. If I found one in that condition, at that price, for my Canadian D25 I would buy it in a heart beat no matter what the shipping. You snooze, you lose. I have had 3 d24s in the last 8 years, all had stainless grilles, like Robert suggested on Boxer's thread the exported d24s with right hand drive were probably equipped with cast grilles, Canada style ala d25. RobertKB Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Looking at the back of the grille, it may be stainless. I am just saying that whatever it is, it's a steal. FRANKIE47, with the D24 you have, you should be all over that like a teenage boy with a willing girlfriend! Quote

Watch out for police behind you because you stole that. The park light bezels and lenses are worth that alone. Even in Canada, where most D25's were made, this stuff is getting very scarce. Quote
boxer_inv Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Anyone near Alvin TX who could 'hold' this item and help to ship it if, hypothetically, some dude from Australia wanted it.......???? Quote
Normspeed Posted November 2, 2009 Report Posted November 2, 2009 Whew, Texas state line is less than an hour from me, but Alvin is 884 miles away! Texas truly is a big state. Quote
james curl Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 (edited) I live in the center of the state and its still 200 miles from me and I am 600 miles east of the state line on the New Mexico side of the state. Edited November 3, 2009 by james curl Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 D24 grille will not fit a D25 Quote
james curl Posted November 3, 2009 Report Posted November 3, 2009 Yes, I know, people in the computer industry use to commute dailey between Austin and Cypress on the north edge of Houston. HP bought one branch of TI and Compact which was started by some TI engineers after TI had their on operating system and microsoft came out and they ran on doss. Only about 2 hours 30 minute drive from the Cypress area to Austin. Quote
