Jim Yergin Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 After spending 20 years to get my car on the road I finally had the opportunity to take my car to a car show. The sports booster club at my son's high school had a fund raising car show this past Saturday. Mostly customs and hot rods. Parked next to two local friends and fellow woodie owners. One was a 1951 Ford Country Squire and the other a 1971 Morris Minor. Weather was absolutely perfect and it was fun showing off the car. Jim Yergin Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 I bet that was fun, Jim. Your car looks great......and you were in good company with those other woodies. Quote
woodscavenger Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Sweet cars. Looks like mom, dad, and baby bear! Quote
greg g Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Have you worked all the bugs out of it???? Hoping you will be able to make the POC show in Maryland in Sept. Quote
radioguy7 Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Jim, really looks sharp!! I'm hoping to attend some shows with my 47 this year after I get the engine straightened out. Quote
Jim Yergin Posted June 1, 2009 Author Report Posted June 1, 2009 Greg, Still working on the extermination of bugs. Just finished reassembling the O/D after having the mainshaft sleeved and hard chromed as well as replacing the cam clutch assembly. Hope to get it back in the car tonight and then will put it and the car to the test on Wednesday. I am hoping to participate with a woodie group that is driving from Washington, D.C. to California. My plan is to drive along on the first leg to Gettysburg, PA. I have the September POC meet date on my calendar and plan on attending. Jim Yergin Quote
greg g Posted June 1, 2009 Report Posted June 1, 2009 Hope to see you again in Sept. Put this on your calendar for next year. Memorial day weekend, Waterloo, NY has a celebration (supposidly Waterloo is the birthplace of Memorial day, so they do it up big) that includes a car show and an annual Woodie Club event. Waterloo was also the home of the factory that made a lot of woody bodies including Plymouths. Come on up and we'll make a weekend of it, do the car shows, take a ride on the Fingerlakes scenic railway, take a trip up to the Antique Boat Museum on the St Lawrence. Go to a couple 3 wineries. Have a Bar B Q. http://www.coachbuilt.com/bui/h/hercules_campbell/hercules_campbell.htm Quote
