BobT-47P15 Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Went to a local show today......probably 75 cars there in all.....could have been a few more. A warm sunny day - met a lot of nice people....saw some nifty cars. The trophy was in the stock class from 1935 to 1948......first place. I don't get excited about winning prizes at these shows....but it's fun to get one occasionally. [url="http://"] Forum member Jim Graham (48 mirage) and his wife stopped to say "hello". I took their picture, but it came out too dark due to the shade. Always good to see them. More pictures later. There were actually a few old Mopars there. The show was held in conjunction with the Rt. 66 Swap Meet, put on by a fellow I know. Only P15 item I found was a so-so tail light frame. Bought a few other sort of car related things like a couple spools of wire and a flourescent drop cord light. [url="http://"] [url="http://"] Quote
RobertKB Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Congratulations, Bob. Always nice to see a Mopar take a trophy because as we all know, they are often overlooked. You have a very sweet looking car! Quote
claybill Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 good work bobby-T. i think the trunk stash helped a lot! bill Quote
Captain Neon Posted May 30, 2009 Report Posted May 30, 2009 Bob has a lot of fun with his car. I know a lot of people that would be scared to take a car like his out and about, but I am glad that he is so willing to show it off. Trophies aren't a big deal, but it is nice to get one once in a while even if the car is the real trophy. Given a choice, however, would rather take some one out for a drive than set at a car show. P15Mike Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Way to go Bob ... gotta agree with Bill , thinking that trunk decor prolly helped a bit .... Mike Quote
Merle Coggins Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Oh boy, Bob. I could of swore that you snuck up to Minnesota to the Midwest Mopars - Mopars in the Park. I saw this one there today. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 Merle, that 49 shore is purty. Reckon they could be first cousins? I didn't have to sit at the show for very long since there was a swap meet going on at the same place. Not much for our old Plyms and Dodges for sale, though. Quote
steveplym Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 Congrats Bob, your car is still looking good. Nice to know these Plymouths can get a first every once in a while. Although if that trophy is a first place trophy I hate to see how small the third place is. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted May 31, 2009 Author Report Posted May 31, 2009 I think the man who put on the swap meet and show paid for the trophies himself. The show was dedicated to his late wife who died of A.L.S. All proceeds from the show were going to the ALS organization. [url="http://"] Quote

steveplym Posted May 31, 2009 Report Posted May 31, 2009 It's always nice to see people helping other people. That is what this hobby is all about in different ways. All the shows our car club puts on give money for gifts for needy kids at Christmas, who would otherwise get very little. We also buy things for folks in the local nursing homes at christmas who need odds and ends and have no family to buy them those things. Quote
