Plymouthy Adams Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Was on the phone a bit with another forum member and was discussing what door seal rubber to use as there are a couple options listed for our year cars...so to make it short and sweet who has used what and with what amount of success. This stuff appears Generic in both catalogs...once mounted and in use..does the edge fold over and give the appearance to the old stuff that was stock...does it have to conform in time..thanks.. sample car P15 and any D24 owner also chime is as we each have applicable vehicles. steveplym Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 On my car I bought the stuff from Roberts. It does conform once installed and allowed to sit against the jamb for a while. I just glued it to the doors with 3M weatherstrip adhesive. No noise in the car so far. I did find it easier to put it on with the doors already on. I should rephrase that...It was easier to put the doors on this way, not necessarily the seals. The doors were harder to get lined up right with the seals pushing the doors out. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted April 30, 2009 Author Report Posted April 30, 2009 thanks for the picture...is the as the 4114 from Restoration speciaties...or is it the 4114S...both claim the same application though there is a bit of difference... Quote
billwillard Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 Tim, I must have the 4114. TOO tight. Spent all day cleaning glue off doors. Still have one to do. 4114s is 1/8" thiner. Should work better. Quote
steveplym Posted April 30, 2009 Report Posted April 30, 2009 I couldn't find the illustration of the 4114, but I did find the 4114S. It is similar to that, but higher on one side. I put that side up against the door and the shorter side goes up against the door. It lays down a bit after being in use a while. Quote
