I grew up in New York where Pizza was very different from these places I see around here. In NY they could not sell these pizzas side dishes:cool: Quote
aero3113 Posted April 27, 2009 Report Posted April 27, 2009 Anywhere outside of New York I don't even consider pizza pizza. I cant understand why other states are so bad. Can it be the water? If anyone wants to visit I will buy you the best pizza you ever tasted !!!(must show up in vintage mopar though) Quote
Niel Hoback Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 There was a Shakey's in Boise a few years ago, Maybe five? A kind of dirty place but the food was not too bad. I don't think its open anymore. Quote

Captain Neon Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 When I'm in Boston, I look for a bar selling lobster. Mmmmm. Thinking of trying the lobster pack from Long John Silver's next time I'm near one to see if it's any good. Quote

Wolfman Jack (as himself): "Uh, yeah, listen, you got anymore of those Secret Agent Spy Scopes?" Pizzeria: "Hit Parade on a Stethescope?" Wolfman: "No, no, the Secret Agent Spy Scopes, man! That pulls in the Moon, the Stars, the Planets, the satellites, and the little-bitty Spacemen." Pizzeria: "You must have the wrong number, Pardner!" oK Tim, is it Shakey's or Pinky's ?? T120 Posted April 28, 2009 Report Posted April 28, 2009 Quote "That said guys, around here you can order hors d'oeuvres with your pizza. Things like Italian garlic bread, cheese sticks, salad, etc. Chicken fingers are also on menu's as hors d'oeuvres in a lot of places. I think Don may have either ordered two meals or pizza with the hors d'oeuvres. What I want to know is how Don ate all that stuff." ...when I was younger,no problem eating that amount along with a six-pack,ergo-no more "sixpack", Quote

Don Coatney Posted April 28, 2009 Author Report Posted April 28, 2009 What I want to know is how Don ate all that stuff."...when I was younger,no problem eating that amount along with a six-pack,ergo-no more "sixpack", I ate two pizza triangles (about 1/4's worth of the whole) and 2 chunks of the crappy chicken crap. The onion tasting fries and the onions went in the trash. The no tell hotel I an staying at has a snack thing every evening. Last evening they had mac and cheese. So I got that and chickened it up with the rest of the crappy chicken stuff. Still have 3/4 of the good pizza. So this evening what does the no tell hotel serve but pizza. It was so-so, so I still have 3/4 of the good pizza in the fridge. In the olden days I could drink a 6 pack before supper and a six pack after. These days two beers and I am all beered out unless it is a really hot day. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 So what else is going on up there at the no tell hotel? Or can't you tell. That's the first time I've heard that expression since my Dad used it many years ago. Quote
n1gzd_plymouth Posted April 29, 2009 Report Posted April 29, 2009 I don't think it's a Boston thing, I think it's a lousy hotel thing. I live near boston and I have never heard of that. I would say that this is a lousy hotel thing. Rebecca Quote
