Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Anyone know what happened to this website? www.searcher.com/P15.html. Use to be a real nice site the guy made up. Had his 47 Plymouth 4 door on it and the restoration progress he did. Also had many old Plymouth links. The guy was out of Utah I believe and was working for some radio station. He was also a member of the POC. His name was Doug. Forgot his last name. Now it looks like he no longer has the site. It's just some site with links to everything, including some to Russian sites. bigred48 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I have no idea but I was just trolling the Minneapolis craigslist and found you a new car! I hope you don't mind that its a 4 door. http://minneapolis.craigslist.org/cto/1089618449.html Quote

Don't believe I've ever seen a 58 Chevy painted that way. Plus, it's a 4 door. Quote
bigred48 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 O well all I can do is try. (I'm not much of a fan either) Quote

Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Ed, Three tone cars back in the 50's didn't necessarily mean the car had three different colors. For example like my 57 Ford. It was light blue on top, white from the body side molding and on the trunk and hood, and the same light blue on the bottom. So........It was also considered a three tone car, even though it only had two colors. Two tone cars were one color for the top and one color for the bottom portion of the car. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 To me 3 tone should be 3 colors. Like this Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Ed, one would think so wouldn't they. But.........it was as I said. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I'll have to take your word for it but it seems weird to me. Maybe its just weird for that 58 chevy. Your Ford you described sounds more like it. So what was a corvette considered if it had a diff colored cove? Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 If the cove and top were the same color, it was also considered three tone. Actually, you could buy three tone 58 Chevy's too. But it would have been painted like I mentioned for my 57 Ford. That's why I said I didn't care for the "Attempt" at making that car a three tone car. It wasn't done right. Quote
Young Ed Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 How about my car how many tones was it? and how many now post crash? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Norm..cut lines using only two colors of paint is still just a two tone...anything else is a misinterpertation...by your standards I must have a quad tone with only two colors.. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 Not going to get into any more long drawn out discussions/arguments about anything any longer on the forum. I said what I said based on what the car color scheme was called in the 50's in this case. Now, if someone has a problem with my statement, get a car book and look it up. I have the car books to verify what I said in this case. But..........I'm not going to waste my time looking it when I already know the answer. Now, this post was to ask if anyone knew what happened to Doug and his 47 Plymouth, including his website. Does anyone know? Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 scan a picture..I'm from Missouri http://www.tcpglobal.com/aclchip.aspx?image=1958-chevrolet-pg02.jpg says two tone only.... Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I think this is how the 58 Chevys were done as a two tone when new. All the first guy did was paint the cove area white, along with the top. In fact, don't believe I've ever seen a three color 58 Chevy. Like this one, they did use green, dk green, green, but it's only still a two tone. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I hope Spring Breaks soon for you guys, because Cabin Feaver has you fighting like a couple of young girls. Dennis:D Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 its not cabin fever...it's just point/counterpoint now if you want to see a tri color..just check out some of the 56 Dodge cars..the Royal for one... Quote
steveplym Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 Norm I have no idea what happened to that page. I used to enjoy it too. I think the guys name was Doug Jessup. I always confused his car with David Maxwell's car, they are both very nice. Quote

I always confused his car with David Maxwell's car, they are both very nice. The last name sounds right now that I see it. He seemed really into his P15. Do you or anyone have a list of names of POC members? Wonder if he still has the car? The primary reason I was checking, is that I have a link on my website to his old site. In checking links, his is no longer the same. Was a real nice web site. Quote
steveplym Posted March 25, 2009 Report Posted March 25, 2009 I just checked the POC website to see if he was listed as a contact for any of the regions and he is not. Not sure, I googled Doug Jessups '47 Plymouth and did not get any info on him or his car. Quote
