Interesting and nice car but way too much "stuff" on it. First thing I would do if I bought it would be to remove a lot of the "stuff". Otherwise pretty decent.

I knew the man that used to own this car. He was much into swap meets and had lots of nick nacks. Enjoyed different types of lights on the cars and big horns. As you can see by this car. This is a pretty nice car, good running car too. I think he got the flathead in the car out of an old combine. It has changed owners several times since he passed away of cancer several years ago.

He always had lots of mopar parts and really any kind of part you needed. I wondered where that car went. Guess I know now.

He always had a lot of fun in this car. Loud horns and lots of lights can be pleasing to some folks I guess. He had a lot of knowledge on these old cars too.

If I had it, I would leave it just as is.

The horns and lights are the kind of stuff you used to find on some cars,

in their heyday.

However, I'm not so crazy about the tail lights.

Where's the fender skirts, mud flaps, rear bumper guards, curb feelers, flags, jeweled valve stem covers, and the 4th suicide knob ?

Looks like a rolling accessory display.

Otherwise a nice car.

Hey bob, is that a vintage" a/c unit" in picture two...seems like I saw one of those on an old vw when I was a kid, it held ice inside.

It is a swamp cooler. No ice required. As water evaporates it cools the air. It works only in dry climates.

So I wonder where he got the neat chrome rim for the rain gutter???

Does look to have the rear window venetian blinds though or something simalar.

I do scan the CCC site every so often. Their prices seem to be pretty fair, some where between what your maximum bid on epay would be and the noosebleed prices on Barret Jackson. I bet if you found a similar car on ebay, that the CCC price is pretty close to the sellers reserve. They do seem to move a lot of old iron.

This chyrsler is a fairly good example, although if you look at the pics the windhsield price is 1k less than the site price.

I would think that the chrome on the gutter is that you buy in 25 foot rolls at the local body supply house..it is the stuff that is most commonly used for door edge protectors...placing it on the gutter rail does liven a car up..have seen this before but most recently saw a particular car up close couple weeks ago with this little attention to detail and it surely broke up the solid color car and highlighted both the roof and window area of the car at the same time..

The problem I have with the ad is the statement that the car is "very unique." You see that term used all the time. There are no varying levels of uniqueness. Either something is unique or it is not. Just my pet peeve.

Have you ever noticed how often the word "original" is abused???

When you get down to cases, there is often nothing original

(as from the factory) about the part of the car they talk about.

It may be the "original" dash, but been painted and modified.

It may be the "original" seats, but re-covered in totally different

material.........etc, etc. So - to me, it's no longer "original".

I agree with you, Bob! How many times have I seen an ad that states "ALL ORIGINAL?" Then I go to look and a '40s car has been painted with heavy metal flake, mag wheels, bucket seats, 350 V8, 350 auto tranny, power steering, tilt steering column, 9" Ford rear, Mustang II front end, vinyl upholstery, digital gauges, and AM/FM/CD-mp3/aux stereo system.

They claim all original because they kept most of the frame, kept the trim, and all the sheet metal is correct. It just barely meets the criteria of being a restorod with the paint job and mag wheels. It's definitely not ORIGINAL.

Sell it as a resto-rod and stop wasting the time of people wanting a well-maintained survivor.

Always wanted to know what 59 Caddy tailights would look like on my Dodge.... now I know ... and now I can save my money

I do like the red pin strip highlights though .... its not bad just a little over done with the nic nacs.

This reminds me of working at a car dealership.A truck would come in and the manager would have me remove the camper shell, running boards, mud flaps and window tint.He said they'll sell better that way.Someone would buy it and show up in it a week later showing off the new camper shell, running boards, etc.I just shook my head,we sold a bunch of cars so you couldn't much argue besides they let me have the take off stuff to make some pocket change.:D I don't much care for all the extras but I understand everybodys different.

Speaking of accessories I bought this steering knob off of the guy that used to own the dodge. He had a Plymouth truck too at one time and took this off of it before he sold it. I always thought it was a neat item.

While not my cup o' tea, it is a clever way to have back-up lights, turn signals, and brake lights that don't confuse the general populace.

Any one else ever get a well-meaning, but ignorant, member of the public inform them that two of their three brakelights are burnt out? I even had to explain it to a cop once.
