Reg Evans Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Yeah, it looks like a front bumper. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 That's what I thought too. Plus it sits too far under the bed. I also see that it has the clock option. Merle Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Mine had the clock option too a few years ago. That's about the 4th time I have seen that. Quote
woodscavenger Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 The front grill looks to be in great shape. Quote
greg g Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Front bumper looks like it was set up to push start race cars at an old bull ring. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Sure does Greg. Guess that's why those grill bars survived all these years. They are usually all beat to HE double L Quote
tinlizzy Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 noticed no gas pedal or clutch pedal but Hey Reg has a floor shift tranny. Would love to have the grille and the clock but to far for a Sunday drive. Quote
Reg Evans Posted March 5, 2009 Author Report Posted March 5, 2009 Super size the photos. There is a brake and gas pedal. The brake pedal is just down in the LOCK position. Wish I was closer too. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 So far the price is right. However, I don't need, and can't afford, another project right now. And Correctionville, IA is a haul even for me. It is far western Iowa, just east of Souix City. I do like the clock option though. I've been toying with the idea of gutting one of my spare speedos and mounting in a battery operated clock works. Then I'd have my friend with the vinyl sign business make up a clock face to put over the old speedo face. If that ever happens I'll be sure to post the results. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Merle I've got one of those 46-48 dodge clocks that'd be perfect to gut and install a battery clock behind. Quote
Merle Coggins Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Thanks Ed. You mean you've got one like pictured in this thread? If my speedo conversion doesn't pan out I'll try to keep that in mind. Merle Quote
Young Ed Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 Yup thats what it is. Its a 46-48 dodge car clock. Quote
Jim Shepard Posted March 5, 2009 Report Posted March 5, 2009 I'd like to have a clock. What can I expect to pay for one? Quote
anthonyb Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Merle, You mean something like this? This is a gutted speaker grill with a Turtlewax can lid and a battery clock. May redo the face one of these days but it seems to work for now. Quote
pflaming Posted March 6, 2009 Report Posted March 6, 2009 Anthony, I like what you did with the gauges. To me it might look even better if your mounting plates were from behind so the entire frame of the "tower" would show. With some things missing the dash must not be fully done. Nice clean look!
