BobT-47P15 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Looks like the same one that was at Nashville GoodGuys in 2006. Seems he was trying to sell it then. Seller lives a bit south of Memphis. I didn't really care for the paint job that much..... Quote

billwillard Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 the guy that put this car together is screwed up. He put the shifter on the wrong side and even the wheel. Quote
Brendan D25 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Bob, I guess the guy that had it for sale on 2006 must have sold it, as it now has a different liscense plate #. Wide whitewalls have been added also. Brendan. Quote
Normspeed Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 That's an interesting trunk lid on the black car. Could the taillights really be that crooked or is that just a camera lens distortion? Car looks too nice to have a flaw like that. Quote
greg g Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Could be a wide angle lens, might be if he swappwd the side tp side it would fit better. Really interested in the 217 liter engine, that thing must fly..... Quote
steveplym Posted February 21, 2009 Author Report Posted February 21, 2009 The trunk lid is much different on the Australian version of the P-15. Thought that was very interesting. Quote
billwillard Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Frankie, How'd you do dat. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Yes, I see the tires are different. It may have sold, now up for sale again. Wheels look the same. Here's one other view, from the front. Seems like a lot of guys buy these old cars, as an investment to make a buck, rather than keep them and drive them. Quote
aero3113 Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I don't know why but I think I like the two tone Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Maybe your color blind??????? Quote
JIPJOBXX Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 I like the gray but not much for the red on the bottom. Quote
RobertKB Posted February 21, 2009 Report Posted February 21, 2009 Two door coupe? That is about as original as the Nova clip and 350 because you sure don't hear of that very often. Quote
Aussie D25 Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Happy Bill? Wow, its doing 100 mph with no one behind the wheel Quote
dezeldoc Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Seems like a lot of guys buy these old cars, as an investment to make a buck, rather than keep them and drive the] That is what I bought my 48 P15 for but it has turned into a 15+ year flip and I still have it!! Quote
B-Watson Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 The red and grey Plymouth is not a coupe, but a 2-door sedan. The Australian 1948 Plymouth body was first introduced in 1939 (Dodge, DeSoto, Chrysler), complete with a two-piece rear window. The front windshield was higher than the American 1939 and the front ventipanes have a slanted rear edge. Note the windows in the doors have corners that are more rounded than the American original. The 1940 models used the 1939 body with a new front clip, rear fenders, taillamps and modified door stampings. When the postwar models came out for 1946, they again got a new front clip, rear fenders, taillamps and a larger, one-piece rear window. But they still had the higher windshield, slanted ventipanes, trunk lid and the 1939's balloony roof. Chrysler bodies were built in Australia by T.J.Richards, a company that was taken over by Chrysler in 1951 and absorbed into Chrysler Australia. Other prewar bodies were the unique 'ute' pickups and an almost 'sloper coupe'. Bill Vancouver, BC Quote

Frank Elder Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Bob, I "flipped" the picture for Bill Willard, look at the original righthand drive pic. Quote
Don Coatney Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 Happy Bill? Wow! I have never seen a htuomylP before:cool: Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted February 22, 2009 Report Posted February 22, 2009 I did not go to ebay to read the ad. But, I too sort of like the two tone color it has on it. As for the description of a coupe, someone should do a little research before calling a 2 door sedan a coupe before advertising it. I've seen a lot of 2 door sedans called a coupe recently. I even saw a 50 Ford 2 door post sedan called a 2 door hardtop on Craigs List within the last couple of weeks. Even if one buys a car simply to flip it, they should at least go through the trouble of finding out just what the car is, before they buy it and try to flip it. Quote
