Guys,

I've been planning this change for ages and gradually assembling a good set of 1940 hubcaps.

I finally got a set of four caps back from the chromer last week, painted them at the weekend and have just fitted them.

I like the slightly more plain design.

Here are some pictures, taken a few minutes ago.

Funny my P15 caps came off a car that should have had those on it. Dad had found a set for his 39 and right before he sold it we finally put them on so I could have the P15 caps.

I wish the center strip was all there. Looks like the bottom is missing. I want to find one of those cheap to see how different they are from the pickup center strips. FYI thats a 39 plymouth front clip.

Steveplym: Really sorry but I'm going to hold on to the P15 hubcaps. Like Bob T, I enjoy sometimes subtly changing the look of the car - adding or removing skirts and/or changing hubcaps or wheeltrims.

Claybill: The skirts are from Agape and are steel. They are good quality but the original fit wasn't great on the back edge, so I had them rolled slightly (see pictures, below).

The trims are 1941 Buick.

I don't blame you Robin. I'd keep them too. I had to ask though.
