Robin (UK) Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Guys, I've been planning this change for ages and gradually assembling a good set of 1940 hubcaps. I finally got a set of four caps back from the chromer last week, painted them at the weekend and have just fitted them. I like the slightly more plain design. Here are some pictures, taken a few minutes ago. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Funny my P15 caps came off a car that should have had those on it. Dad had found a set for his 39 and right before he sold it we finally put them on so I could have the P15 caps. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 They look nice, Robin. Same as these, found locally. (in case anyone wonders....these are not here any more) Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Well, Ed, they went to your house......to be used on your Dad's pickup. Quote
steveplym Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 Don't want to get rid of those P-15 hubcaps do ya Robin? Quote
Young Ed Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I know bob that's what the wink was for. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 If anyone needs this front end for a Plymouth, the guy would like to sell it. Is in MO. Quote
Young Ed Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 I wish the center strip was all there. Looks like the bottom is missing. I want to find one of those cheap to see how different they are from the pickup center strips. FYI thats a 39 plymouth front clip. Quote
claybill Posted February 12, 2009 Report Posted February 12, 2009 robin...lookin' good. might try it myself! a big question.....i currently have rear fender splash guards..but i prefer skirts! been loking around...i have the same car '48 black convert, white top. do you have the fiberglas skirts that fit up nicely..or the steel ones, or....?? there is a f/glas set on ebay now from calif for 125.00 i thnk they attach with a rod on the back side that clips against fender..yes? Agape? bill email to claybill@netexpress.net. Quote
Robin (UK) Posted February 13, 2009 Author Report Posted February 13, 2009 Steveplym: Really sorry but I'm going to hold on to the P15 hubcaps. Like Bob T, I enjoy sometimes subtly changing the look of the car - adding or removing skirts and/or changing hubcaps or wheeltrims. Claybill: The skirts are from Agape and are steel. They are good quality but the original fit wasn't great on the back edge, so I had them rolled slightly (see pictures, below). The trims are 1941 Buick. Quote

I had to ask though. Quote
Fireball Posted February 13, 2009 Report Posted February 13, 2009 Looks good Robin, really good. Gotta love your car. Quote
