Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Tried an experiment on the hokey a$$ message board today. Did a post that wanted to see chopped dropped and BB stuffed d-24's. It was just like old home week, the only pictures posted were by members here! Also noticed quite a few members on the hamb with familiar cars and different names... I guess just for the sake of change. Quote
speedyshark Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I guess not a lot of people like to cut thees cars up? They look good just the way they are. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 Yes they do! Just curious if anyones done a club coupe chop? Not really interested in a moredoor chop-and a bizzy has a small enough cockpit as it is! Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Looks like this one may be chopped. If it's not, that's a tall car hop. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 D-24 Norm, not P-15, I want to see how my body style is affected by the lower roof line. Beautiful car though:D Quote
dezeldoc Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 This one was posted a while back. and one of mine.I haven't had time to work on it for a while. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 What is the blue one, a early 40's? The primer one looks more like mine, very interesting:cool: Quote
Don Coatney Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Not really interested in a moredoor ! You got sumpin against more doors? Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 Just beautiful blue 4-doors in the boro:eek: No Don, just a morbid fascination of what my car would look like if it was chopped, which it won't be, because this one will be stock. Already lookin for a real basket case to rod out, 392 needs somewhere to sit. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 I think that chopped blue one with the primer is a P15. Quote

I have never understood the fanisation folks have with lowering and chopping cars. They look so good when original I just dont see the need. Let alone the difficulties someone my size has getting in and out of a chopped roof car. Hell I struggle getting in and out of a full sized car these days. Quote
dezeldoc Posted December 27, 2008 Report Posted December 27, 2008 Don, I am 6'4 300lbs and have no problem getting in the coupe, the only car I have found hard to get into is my brother in law's 32 5w chop top with suicide doors. Love the look of that blue coupe!! Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 27, 2008 Author Report Posted December 27, 2008 5-8, 220 lbs, don't have any problems fitting in a car! I have seen a plethora of plymouths, but not one chopped picture of a 46-48 Dodge club coupe.I'll keep searchin' the web. Thanks fellas. Quote

Plymouthy Adams Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 all you big and talls..try getting in and out of a Chrysler Crossfire..even worse if parked next to another car...I think they are pretty cars but once I sat down in the car..I told the guy I did not even want to back it out of the parking space..it was that horrible entry/exit..and I am not a big person... Normspeed Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Frankie, I believe this is the same blue car, front view. That was in January 08, Grand national Roadster Show Pomona. Quote
dezeldoc Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Yep that be the same one! I could not find the other pics I had of it. Quote
Normspeed Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Great show. The model A in the background belongs to a friend of mine. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 D.Doc.....I knew yours was a P15, to me it was pretty obvious. But I think I had seen pics of the blue one before....that it was a Plym. Looks like a modified Plym front end with a Packard grille. Still has the bottom P15 stainless grille pieces. Quote
RobertKB Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Frankie, I believe this is the same blue car, front view. That was in January 08, Grand national Roadster Show Pomona. Sorry guys, that car does nothing for me. It does not look like a Plymouth and the Packard grill does not make it look like a Packard. Although I appreciate the amount of work and workmanship that goes into a car like this, it leaves me cold. It is a nothing. Maybe a Chev as it likely has a Chev engine and to me the engine is the heart and soul of any car. Flatties rock! Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 all you big and talls..try getting in and out of a Chrysler Crossfire..even worse if parked next to another car...I think they are pretty cars but once I sat down in the car..I told the guy I did not even want to back it out of the parking space..it was that horrible entry/exit..and I am not a big person... Tim, I think that car has the best design if only it was full sized and had a V8 those cars look great going down the road. That is one car that I would buy:) I just need a v8 in it. The car reminds me of the first gen. Chargers. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted December 28, 2008 Report Posted December 28, 2008 Rodney..in that size car I would be happy with the 250 horse 3.5 V6..that is one stomping engine..super smooth and most econmical of them all even with the dual overhead cams and twin throttle bodies..the 2.7 was not a quality engine in my book... Frank Elder Posted December 28, 2008 Author Report Posted December 28, 2008 Wonder how the beast would look with a waterfall grille, I like it. Quote
Frank Elder Posted December 29, 2008 Author Report Posted December 29, 2008 Borrowed a picture from windsor 8, lowdown d24 thread and had it photo shopped on the hamb. Thank you Windsor. :) Enjoy! That's the look I want. Quote
