Is your pin hole (and possibly others) on the top of the tank or the

bottom?

If they are on the top, you could probably clean the metal

real good and use some fiberglass---get a kit at the auto store or

WalMart. The WalMart kit has a piece of cloth that is described as

3 square feet. Which in reality is not all so big.....not quite enough to

cover the top of a tank completely.

I've used some of that yellow and blue dum-dum that comes in two parts that you mixed together. I used it on a Dodge Dart I used to have and it held for several years and a lot of miles. By the time it started leaking again I had a spare tank so I just changed it.

Tanks, inc. has a good one. I got one for $215. Minor mod to the trunk pan for sender and you need to flip the arm on the sender as this tank is baffled and vented. Very nice, IMHO. Wayne P.

My tank on the convert actually has a couple pennies soldered (i guess)

over pinholes in the bottom. Haven't leaked in probably 20 years.

Yep, Tim, the ol ragtop is worth at least two cents at all times.

Which just goes to show, I guess, that many sorts of things can

be used for repairs on an old car. Just use a little imagination in

some cases.

check the tanks listed for the 46 through 48 fords. In the short term, I have cleaned the area with a brass scrubber, no sparks you know, the put a rubber washer on a seft tapping sheet metal screw put it int he hole then covered the whole deal with a gob of epoxy. Used the same techique on an oil pan also.
