I see a lot of extras out there for our cars, when does it start to look tacky?

I like the clean stock front end of my car, but would like to add fogs. I am afraid that would lead to sunvisor, spots, dual mirrors, push bar, radio antenna, etc.

Has anyone seen a fully optioned mopar like this?

You might look at some Cuban taxi's, they are prone to add on options.

For me, I add for function first, then for a boutiner effect. For example, on my truck will stay with the original paint but add a touch of red somewhere, probably in the hubcaps, when had red originally. Don't like the new 18" wheels which are popular in CA, do like nice wooden sideboards on the bed. Fog lamps in CA are functional, spot lights in CA are not. That's my take, yet I am always surprised what actually looks nice. Sometimes I put something on for a while to see if I like it. For example, put black electrician's tape on something I may want to paint black, then take a picture and look at it for a week and see if I still like it. Did that with my girl friend's picture, ended up marrying her 48 years ago.

I prefer a cleaner look and leave most of that stuff off. My car had one spotlight on it which I took off. Car is yours of course to option as you see fit. Please just don't get the white wall trim rings and install them with white wall tires!

And, I'm not fond of the real pale color wheels with wide whites....not

enough distinction. (photo borrowed from carnut.com)

If you want to see many different treatments of old Plymouths, most

are rods and/or customs, go to www.carnut.com and click on the old car

index, then brand and year of car. They have a lot of pics. Mine is

even on there. He takes this photos at shows.

This car has only the "bedstead" bar on the front bumper.

The nice thing about owning a car of any kind or any other item is, you can do what you want with it, not what others want or like.;)

If you want to paint it yellow with purple and red polka dots, then by all means that's what you should do. The same goes for adding any accessories. I may not like it, and others may not like it. But...........it's not our car, it's yours.

Ed,

Again, it's all an individual taste. I'm not crazy about all that white myself on the tire and wheel. But..........that's just my opinion. Actually, many people must like that look. I've got a magazine centerfold picture of Tim Allan's 46 Ford convertible hanging on the shop wall. He did the same treatment on those wheels. So.........guess he must like it.

Here's the tire look I mentioned.

Men wore spats and the cars needed the same treatment, white walls and white trim rings.........PS not my thing either, like chrome reverse, baby moons, rims painted red, mags etc

No white on white tire crime, I won't be breakin' that law! Those push bars sure look nice though:)

I had the grill and trunk guards on my coupe. Took them and the bumper guards off for a smoother look. Actually that trunk guard sort of gets in the way when you want to do something in the trunk.:( Use to have the Fulton Visor on it too until it popped up when a truck passed one day doing about 50 or 55 MPH. Took it off too and left it off. Made the car look cleaner without the visor.
