Harvey Tank Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 Hello all, on my 50 ply P20 there was never a kick down switck on it. Just A toggle sw. on the dash. now that Iam putting everything back togeather I wont to install a kickdown switch on the carburetor. I cant seem to find anything in detail how to mount the switch on the carburetor. anyone have a photo that shows a close up of the mounting. thanks for all the help. Quote
Young Ed Posted November 18, 2008 Report Posted November 18, 2008 The reason there was only a toggle switch is 50 didn't have OD available from the factory so someone added it later. The carb mounted kickdown goes on a 1/4 moon shaped piece that attaches to a couple of the fuel bowl top's mounting screws. Then when the carb is pushed to full throttle the linkage pushes the button on the switch. Quote
p18plywood Posted July 28, 2009 Report Posted July 28, 2009 George Asche in Venus, PA. has the bracket for the kickdown switch. It is $25. He also rebuilds OD trans, engines and does a lot of trick work to the old flatheads, like dual and triple carb setups, split exhausts, etc. Interesting man and a great resource. Gerry Quote
