Dennis Hemingway Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 In a convertible, you can see the road in both directions. The old car gave me a chance to do something with my son-in-law when we attended the buried Plymouth event in Tulsa last summer. He enjoyed it. Bob, Tell your son-n-law that he has something growing out of his ear. LOL Dennis Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Dennis......don't ya just love all these new gadgets---like the blue tooth cell phone thing. Not sure if he still has that one currently. He did have a Blackberry til it fell out of his pocket into the lake recently. Quote
Dennis Hemingway Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I know about loosing things, We went on a Off Road Poker Run last week and we were riding in a 4 seat buggy now my cell phone is getting a sun tan some where out in the desert. Dennis:eek: Quote

Dennis Hemingway Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Young Ed, For a vehicle with a VW motor that buggy flew across the desert. It belongs to a member of our car club and a friend of ours. Dennis:cool: Quote

Might want to resize it though to a large or medium. Quote
bigred48 Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 thanks a lot Steve, seems easy now that you explained it. don't know what I was thinking Quote
Rodney Bullock Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 I need one of those Hula dolls, it getting cold out and I miss summer. I hate the cold however this is the only way I would get any rest. I would be going to car show and events year round. I might have to rethink that! Quote
old woolie Posted October 30, 2008 Report Posted October 30, 2008 Looks like you have at least 3 "admirers" Bob! That's the only thing that can be a hassle on the old country roads is the double yellow line parade. Most people in newer cars don't care or know what the double yellow lines mean. Yes,old cars are magic, they take you back to better times. Quote
Frank Elder Posted October 31, 2008 Report Posted October 31, 2008 Woolie the one I see the most often is someone crossing over the double white line that denotes a median, because city planners did'nt go with cement, etc. And then they wonder why they got T-boned! Quote
Robert Smith Posted November 4, 2008 Author Report Posted November 4, 2008 I'm having a hard time with my magic machine here, but soon as I get it fixed up again, she'll be makin' more magic! Some times I wish I knew magic to keep this crate runnin' right! One thing I have to say, for anyone living near old roads through orange groves, that's just as magical as it can get. To drive through the old groves and listen to 40s music... *sigh* that's the stuff! Couldn't ever get that feeling in a Prius! =R Quote
David Maxwell Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 This is the a pic of a bunch of the Chrysler Corp engineers enjoying a little bowling in 1947. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v455/bojeta/40s%2050s%20Photos/Chrysler-Engineers-sm.jpg As I see it, it's almost incomprehendible to imagine that these vehicles were designed before computers, autocad, calculators, etc., etc. These old girls were designed by good old-fashioned engineering, with at most, a slide rule, pencils and a drafting table. Every time I head to the garage, to spend some time with my P15, I try to imagine who the engineers were, and how successful they were in their efforts. In spite of their shortcomings by today's standards, these vehicles were state of the art for their era. Sure, I'm building safety features into my P15, like disc brakes, seat belts, dual master cylinder, etc. to make it as safe as I can for me and my family, but I have to admit, these cars were extremely well engineered, and I have a great deal of respect for their designers. They were indeed masters of their craft. Quote
Frank Elder Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Have driven the orange goves in Porterville and Terra Bella in a 53 Olds. Thats when I found out they use bad oranges to feed the dairy cows! Quote
