Dennis_MN Posted August 23, 2008 Report Posted August 23, 2008 Saw an adv for a 1950 Dodge PU. Looks like a 3/4 ton for a reasonable price of $6,550 http://www.countryclassiccars.com/sptrucks_11.htm What really caught my eye was the claim that it had a factory dump bed. Pretty unusual for a three speed truck. Dennis Quote
Merle Coggins Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Dump box??? The front panel looks different, but if it does dump, wouldn't the bumper get in the way? Merle Quote
Reg Evans Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 My sediments too. Maybe they meant the air cleaner. In the engine shot it appears that the air cleaner is dumping the oil. Quote
Guest Kuster13 Posted August 25, 2008 Report Posted August 25, 2008 Am I mistaken or does that truck also have two heaters? (pic # 4) Quote
52B3B108 Posted August 30, 2008 Report Posted August 30, 2008 The bumper brackets look angled down to give room to dump and the bumper is set out to allow for dumping between the bumper and the box. It looks like they added a piece to the original front panel to the sides would be a uniform height. Quote

Maybe how you activate the dump action!? When I was kid my Dad converted his '53 Dodge 1-ton to a push-button starter the starter button was just like the one shone. Also the old man who previously owned my '51 B-3-B had a bad right leg and couldn't use the foot starter and converted it to a push-button starter with same type button. JMHO. Harvey Quote
