  1. Can I unbolt the lower control arm at the inner pivot point to remove the coil springs?? I want to cut the spring to lower the car just a little.. Thanks for any help....
  2. Could some one out there tell me how to get the headlight switch out of dash in a 1955 Plymouth ? I don't see how to remove the nobs. Thanks for any help.
  3. I am 99% sure that I back in the '50's in high school, I remember that one of the senior guys had a P15 two door sedan with the radio antenna mounted just above the center of the windshield similar to the way some of the Fords did in the early '40's. Back then, P15's were literally everywhere and I never saw another one with its antenna located there. They were usually on either side of the cowl. Does anyone here recall ever seeing this setup on a P15? I was thinking that possibly this car was one of the first from the factory after the war or possibly an aftermarket application. Thanks for any info. John R
  4. Is there supposed to be a gap between the running boards and the fenders? If so, what king of spacer was used her? My fenders have a hole for a bolt and my old running boards did, too. No bolt or Bo spacer, however. Pictures would be greatly appreciated.
  5. I got my main bearings from AB yesterday. They are the correct Federal Mogul #'s. Now what is the best way to get the wax off of them without damaging the bearing surfaces? I feel like it will hurt them if I keep wiping them, gasoline doesn't cut it, and I tried heat. Heat works, but I don't want to damage anything that way either. Anybody got any better ideas? Something like naptha maybe?
  6. I'm in the process of rebuilding a 251 for my 50 Windsor. I ordered a set of .020 under bearings from Bernbaum, and after waiting two weeks, I got this set. The rear main looks fine and fits in great, the front one looks fine too, but the center two are too narrow and the oil hole is slightly off. Is this the wrong set? Is this block different than other 251's? It has sodium filled valves, maybe it's got a different bottom end?
