The distributor on my 1950 Plymouth P20 Special Deluxe Club Coupe is an Auto-Lite IAT-4103. But my service manual and my Motors manual lists these 4 options: When I tried to search on the Auto-Lite IAT-4103, I was seeing options for a 1939 or 1940 vehicle. Questions... 1) should I expect problems, or is this fine? 2) the second photo shows that wire / screw on the far left exposed, should it be tight against the distributor body? 3) It looks like the left side of the base is above that plate. I assume this is the locking plate, but I've not delved in to know. Is that crooked, or to be expected?

My first hobby is photography. My son, Jacob, decided at age 14 that he wanted 'an old car' when it came time to drive. I searched around and found this 1950 P20 Special DeLuxe Club Coupe that had been restored two owners ago. The previous owner bought it from the prior's estate. The PO had the bumpers rechromed, found some trim, redid steering tie rods, and a few other things. I've primarily just been doing maintenance, but Jacob is starting a Scarebird Disc Brake install real soon. I don't know why I haven't taken the time to take a photo of the car -- perhaps all the time my wife's kitchen remodel is taking? That project started at the same time we got the Plymouth -- hmm. Anyway, yesterday, 4 July 2017, I finished repairing the parking brake and then asked my youngest daughter to put on a dress and we headed out to take some photos. I started at local college campus but got run off by security. Headed to a park that has an ancient stone gazebo, but being a national holiday, the park was overrun with people. Decided I would head down to this pull off across the river as it has a place without any time telling details. Favorite shot of the youngest daughter with the Plymouth.

I'm a new owner of a 1950 P20 Special Deluxe Club Coupe and trying to learn all I can. This is the first antique auto I've ever owned or worked on. These forums here frequently mention a "Motor" manual. I have an official Service Manual that covers the body and some engine items of the P20 series. But, what is the Motor manual and where do I find one? Engine number is: P20*316710* as shown in the photo below. Also, I thought many of the Plymouth engines were painted green. Mine is black. Does that mean anything?

I have a 1950 P20 Special Deluxe convertible. If you could do me a favor and post a picture of the clutch linkage that attaches to the engine or transmission I would greatly appreciate it. We can't figure out how it goes back on. We took pictures of the disassembly but must have missed this detail. If you look under the starter there should be a bracket that goes into the clutch arm. I have the bracket. Any pictures would be a great help.
