  1. My mechanical fuel pump has an integrated fuel filter, but some flatheads have a filter attached to the carburetor inlet. Since the fuel pump has a filter already, is the carb filter really necessary or is it just extra insurance? Integrated Fuel Filter Carburetor Fuel Filter
  2. I just purchased an in-line 1 3/4" radiator coolant filter that I believe should work on the top hose between the thermostat housing and the radiator inlet on this 218 flathead six engine. There's a few brands out there, but to my knowledge this is the only one that is small enough to insert between the radiator inlet and the thermostat housing, as the entire unit measures only 3 5/8 " wide and requires that 2" of hose be removed (cut out)..filter has removable cap for servicing.....if interested - pm me and I will share the info. I'm not connected or involved with these in any way, other than I had been trying to obtain one, but they were only available out of Australia and the shipping made them crazy high...however now there is a distributor here in Texas which brought the price way down....not trying to violate any forum rules, by advertising for anyone,...just wanting to share with folks that might have a need.. Steve
  3. So I'm getting ready to get my P11 running and back on the road again, and I made the startling realization that I can't find where my oil filter should be? I've read a few different things about different options or styles of oil filter, but I would think regardless it would be in this spot, or is there some other method of filtration system that i might not be aware of? The only thing the service manual mentions about it: REPLACEMENT OF OIL FILTER. 1936-42-Install a new oil filter, or a new oil filter cartridge (if equipped with the replaceable cartridge type) every 8000 miles. In dusty areas, it may be advisable to change filter, or cartridge, at any time when the oil appears to be excessively dirty. Am I just missing the whole thing, or am I barking up the wrong tree here?
  4. I have a p25 motor in my 53 b4b. it has a plastic fuel filter. does anyone know where I can get an original fuel filter for this motor. I found the fuel pump. but all the filters I have found are either plastic or the metal tube type.
  5. Would anyone know which oil filter I would use on my 48 plymouth? I can't find a part number anywhere. It's the original 217 straight six. And any tip on which weight of oil to use? Thanks!
  6. Anybody have a part number or source for the correct fuel filter? Mine has the filter bowl as part of the pump (see pic). The filter pictured in here has since fallen apart. None of the stores around here can get me a filter that fits right. Thanks much! - JT.
