  1. I love all the different opinions posted so far.... I personally like both original patina and restoration paint.. as long as you drive it and enjoy it I do not see a big issue with either. When I purchased my truck it had been completely restored at some point in the past. Do not know if it was a barn find or a rust project before the restoration but I do know that someone enjoyed it and spent some time/ energy and money keeping it running. I think that is the main reason we are all on this forum in the first place. Since my truck has no patina or original paint It will be repainted shortly.
  2. I have the same problem with the pick a part places around here..... living in a small town makes finding parts harder I think!
  3. I am having a heck of a time getting the top on with this filter anyone have tips? What am I missing here?
  4. So with the wix filter do I remove the cone under the cap?
  5. Okay not to hijack but I have a governor on my truck....thought it had something to do with exahust bypass at idle, it is not hooked up in my truck, do I need to do anything., it seams like some exahust leaks out.
  6. I believe 15's are typical / standard on these trucks....do you still want pictures?
  7. Anyone know which filter this is? Wix filter I got from parts store will not fit. Looks a little bigger than this one.
  8. If I put this axle in correctly the shocks go toward the font correct? The axle bends toward the back of the truck? I would hate to think I put this whole thing in backwards
  9. That's what I figured..... guess I have some work to do llollol
  10. Anyone know how tight the kingpin should be in the bushings? These are very snug looks like I am going to need to tap it in with a hammer? I thought they were suppose to slip right into place? I have checked and double checked with D!MC and I have the right set for the truck, I have never done this before so I have no reference.
  11. Okay I messed up and dug into a project and did not do enough pre planning....I am replacing the kingpins in my 1952 B3B and I do not have the shop manual. I have ordered it but it will take a week to get here anyone know of where I can get to the pages online?
  12. After closer inspection I think I have found the problem. I have a worn out tie rod end and a sloppy king pin situation. It is not drastic but enough movement by hand that I think that is what is causing the issue , I will replace everything in the front end and see where that gets me, thanks for the tips.
  13. I read something that a lot of states required door signs on trucks have not been able to get the whole story....anyone know?
  14. Nice truck....I like the patina...I have a gas can holder on my 53 but different design...
  15. If you are going to spend so much money on the truck why Sell It? You will never make what you sink into a classic like this....might as well enjoy it for awhile....
  16. That is always the best time...love the first time they fire up.....
  17. I took the drums off and when i push on the pedal the right side moves.....
  18. I am having a problem where every now and then when I push on the breaks the truck takes a hard pull to the left. I took the drums off the front and each pad is the same distance away and when you apply the breaks it looks like both sides move the same distance. I am not sure what to do.....I have bleed the breaks ....... anyone know what this could be?
  19. They are a little beat up but I love the look!
  20. Thought I posted a pic already but here are a few of my 1952 B3B....
  21. Love the idea.....I just have a boring old chicken coop! I have seen people make footboard for a bed out of the front closed p lots of cool ideas.
  22. I am interested to know as well...PO did not keep regular size on the truck......put too wide rear tireson..... I would like to get nicer rims and white walls...anyone know the original size, back spacing?
