I think 1951 dodge grain truck with a spitfire inline 6, two speed rear end, and not as much rust as one might think.

Does anybody on here know how to use leading for body filler instead of bondo. Eastwood sells a kit and I thought about trying to learn. I know bondo is easier, but doesn't leading have more benefits?

I personally don't like the look of a truck that wouldn't make it over a speed bump, but if your not going to take it that far then it will probably look fine. When I hear someone say drop I usually think of a vehicle that drags on the ground and to me these trucks don't look good that way.

Ok thank you. I know on the older diesels you hook it to the alternator.
-
I like that. How do you hook one up to a generator?

Thanks guys.

I have another question. Has anybody thought of having a tachometer? Where would you put one so it looks ok? And is it even possible with a generator?
-
Don't drop it. It won't look right.

Here is a picture of my truck I have a few more but they won't upload on my phone.

Yeah those gener-nators are fairly pricey.

Has anybody done a 12 volt conversion with one of those alternaters that looks like a generator. I think i saw it on summit racing and was wondering if they are any good.

I haven't found out what ci of engine i have yet. All i can tell about the wheels is they are the split rim style. I haven't been up there for a week. Is the truck in your profile picture a semi? I like the ride height and location of fuel tank. Is there any other difference besides engine, and frame between that and a 1 1/2 ton

I would love a list of things to check over while working on these old engines.

Build thread for 1951 1 1/2 ton job rated dodge with a flathead 6 and a two speed rear end. Will post pictures as soon as possible.
