  1. I can totally understand the compliments. That is a classic color combination that is really set off well by both the white wall tires and the chrome. Beautiful car!!!
  2. ...can be achieved by: 1. Repainting the white reflective surface of the reflector plate behind the bulb. 2. Cleaning the light prism that channels the light toward the dial and 3. Re-applying the red and green colors to the speedo dial with either a red and green Sharpee pen or transparent acrylic paints sold at hobby shops for "stained glass" window effects.
  3. Anything near as nice as that Chrysler and you're gonna be one happy camper. Congrats on your retirement and the cars!!
  4. Great story! Great cars and the online video quality was pretty good.

  6. Randy, I'm using a NextEngine 3D Laser scanner. The models are ported to 3D Studio Max in 3ds format and STL format. I have a 3D Printer as well and hope to be able to print quality copies, but that's yet to be seen. We just upgraded to the latest 3D laser scanner and our Techs need to set it up and install the newest scanning software. I'm not allowed to do any of that for a variety of reasons though, if they don't get their butts in my classroom quick, I'm gonna do it myself anyhow. I'll keep everyone posted on progress and contact you directly when I get a quality scan. I tried it with our previous scanner, but the combination of an inferior scanner and a computer that was too slow to handle the data transfer resulted in models with large gaps in the mesh. The plywood models sound really cool!! Stay after me on this. I usually have so many things going that I have trouble following up unless someone bugs me, so please do bug me!!! I'll send an email to my classroom right now as a reminder. Email me at my fortyseven.plym@verizon.net account as a reminder too and I'll forward that to my work. David
  7. Yes... R & R makes them. I picked up several a couple of years ago. I was glad I waited because the ones I got had chromed bumpers. Detail is quite good on them. I'm going to scan them with a 3D laser scanner and create wireframe models for use in my 3D modeling and animation program. Then of course I'll build them out and put them on my shelf
  8. ...and can't wait to see the movie. Looks like it will be fun and even if the movie isn't great, I saw enough fine cars to make it worth the price of admission!! Congrats Rodney!!
  9. ...I know that when I go to meet, I love to see all the cars in various states of progress. It's fun to see the approach people are taking even if it's just to keep the car in "as is" condition. It's fun to share stories of success and failure and to try and help as much as possible when people need it. So go to the meet and proudly show your car!!! Have fun!
  10. ...had the exact same electrical problem today... I'll try the ammeter approach in the morning. Thanks Rodney for the question and all for the responses.
  11. Hi, years ago I scanned a complete accessories brochure and sent it to Gerald in PDF format. He has made that available under the "Downloads" tab on this site. Go to the main page, choose dowloads and you will see the link to the brochure.
  12. Michael, everyone's monitor settings may vary so who knows what the color looks like on each computer. On mine, It looks PERFECT! I have an NOS wheel and I also have repainted several myself. The factory color was called "Vogue Brown" and had very tiny metal flake in it which your photos appear to have as well. All the recommendations about using epoxy are great. That will work and if you can match the vogue brown in a chroma base and then clear coat it, you will be very happy with the results. Best of luck!
  13. ...covers fit great on the P15 4-door. Not sure about the D24
  14. ..and was pleasantly surprised with the price, quality and speed of delivery. Postage cost was reasonable as well.
  15. ...could pass for original at first glance. I would recommend eliminating the aluminum and using silicone to adhere them. Where did you get the material?
  16. Got so wrapped up in a multitude of things that I forgot all about this. I'm posting a note on my PC screen to get those out when I get home from work tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.
  17. ...and that just got them in trouble, so I'm going to leave it alone lol...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5d8rT5tnTN8
  18. I think I'm 4 or 5 pages deep. http://www.jaylenosgarage.com/your_garage/cars/6774.shtml
  19. I used to spend summers there on occasion. He lived in town, but had a hog farm out nearl Carlton. Loved sitting on the porch (sometimes in the living room), shooting rifles. His name was Ed Harzel. He passed away some years ago all the family eventually moved to other parts. I also used to love going down to the ghost town part of Hico. It was an honest to goodness classic western ghost town. Is it still there?
  20. Hmmm, however, the motel in the background is leaning as well. I'd say a little of both.
  21. ...I love this one because it's a genuine 1940's bobber of Cleopatra. The colors also match my car's interior well. Fun stuff!
  22. that place Don was talking about (Tech... something). Close to $200, but it would be in perfect condition. Even the best chrome shops never get those brake light bezels right. I had five of them rechromed and they messed up every one of them. Finally found a NOS one.
  23. Wish they would have had that when I was insulating mine. I essentially did the same thing (perhaps a little more) by first applying Dynamat Xtreme to the entire interior. I then applied a thick layer of Xtremeliner foiled back foam over the entire interior firewall. Over that, I replaced the original firewall cover. It cut down the heat transfer completely and reduced engine noise dramatically. I believe this new product would have saved me time and money.
