  1. Great example of a correct interior for a Battalion Beige P15. The welting on the seat is the pinstriped wool, the hogs hair is brown and the solid wool is the correct taupe. There were variations, but this is the most common scheme for the beige car.

    Just in case anyone would like to see what an original Plymouth P15

    interior looked like, here is a good example from an ebay ad. The only

    thing I see that's not correct is the red e-brake handle. They were

    brown like the steering wheel and column. (They were red on Chrysler

    and some others.)

  2. Yes! I was grinning ear to ear with my 2nd place considering Mark was 1st. Of course, I knew from the get-go that Mark had it in the bag and deservedly so. Really hope I can make Kalamazoo. K-A-L-A-M-A-Z-OO.... I got a girl.... in Kalamazoo.... Actually I have one right here in Santa Maria, but I'll bring her with me :)

    Lotsa hardware captured by forum members this weekend on both coasts. Next year the WPC meet is in Kalamazoo. We kinda shook them up with 6 P15s maybe next year we can really shake em up with some more P, and some more D and there was only one truck (a 40 Plym) so you truck guys might turn out also.

  3. Thoroughly enjoyed the meet and it was great to see Mark's 41 take 1st Place! I remember when he brought just the chassis to Santa Maria. I was amazed then at the meticulous attention to detail. Seeing the final product was even more amazing. Great work on a great car and thanks for the videos! Entertaining and informative. Congratulations!


  4. ...and they provide excellent instructions. Was very easy to install. Just be sure and take lots of digital pics of the original before taking it out and it's a no-brainer putting the new one in since Y n Z uses all the same patterns and colors as the original. BTW, their wire has modern insulation which is then covered in their cloth braiding. Very nice product, but of course it is expensive so not for everyone. Best of luck whichever way you go!

  6. This is Benjamin Foxen's home (about 5 miles from my home) where Foxen met with General Fremont and lead his troops over San Marcos Pass, thereby bypassing the Spanish forces at Gaviota Pass. The Americans were able to march into the Presidio in Santa Barbara (then capital of California) and defeat the Spanish army without a shot being fired.Foxen-1-web-1.jpg


  7. Marty, everything was just placed on loosely in that picture for a test. As you can see, there are wires hanging loose and no flooring in yet and the steering wheel isn't even bolted on yet.

    An interesting picture. I see no evidence of the steel ring that would be in a groove on the backside of the steering wheel, and even if it was there the turn signal assembly would have to be much higher on the steering column for the steel ring to contact the wheels inside the switch that are the cancelling mechanism.

  9. I spoke with the General Manager. Turns out he owns a 1969 Plymouth!! He has offered us a discounted rate for Sept 17th and/or 18th of $109 per night. If you would like a room reserved, please contact the Santa Maria Inn at (805) 928-7777 and let them know you are with the Golden State Region Plymouth Owners Club. We will have our meeting Saturday following a cruise up to Pismo Beach. You can book a room for Friday, Saturday or both at that rate.

    There was some discussion in another post about the Plymouth signal indicators. I took a photo of the one on my car. I was hoping if you guys could tell me if this was a factory set-up or if it is aftermarket. The signal housing on the column has a bakelite cover and knob that is a pretty close match to the dash knobs. I never really thought about this being factory, I just assumed it was aftermarket. What's the verdict?

  11. ...and we're still trying to get a better estimate on the number of rooms needed and how many nights. I'm trying to get a block of rooms reserved for Fri and Sat night Sept 17th and 18th. I live here and don't need a hotel, but I'm actually considering staying in one of the historic rooms. So far, excluding myself, I only have 4 rooms committed for Fri and 2 or 3 for Sat. Several people have indicated they are driving in and out Saturday and won't need a room, but many haven't responded or are waiting to hear about others responses. If everyone waits for the next person, it's gonna be real difficult to get the prices down. Please, if you're planning on attending and staying at the SM Inn Fri/Sat or both, let me know ASAP.   12. I will be talking to the SM Inn tomorrow about room rates for Sept 17th and 18th for those planning on joining us for our annual meeting and cruise. It would help a lot if you let me know your are planning on attending as the room rate should get better the more rooms I ask them to reserve.

    I don't know how this sort of thing works but would it be worth it if we all stayed at the Santa Maria Inn if there might be a chance for some sort of discount. My wife was checking on line and their room rate is $119. Perhaps we could get some sort of volume rate.

  13. OK... I got feedback from the Golden State Region members and from several here on the forum. Here's the tentative plan pending contact with the hotel:

    1. Meet headquarters will be the Historic Santa Maria Inn, in... you guessed it...Santa Maria, CA. Pismo Beach is approx 19 miles north. I called a few places in Pismo and, as you can guess, they're already booked for that weekend. This is OK because....

    2. The cruise from Santa Maria to Pismo via Guadalupe, Oceano, AG is scenic and pretty quick.

    3. We should be able to secure a nice meeting area at the Santa Maria Inn.

    A. Meet at the Inn Saturday

    B. Caravan to Pismo via route above

    C. Enjoy sites and bikes... vintage and new

    D. Cruise back to Inn for club meeting

    E. Sunday Breakfast at the Inn or optional site to be determined

    F. Optional Sunday activities to be determined.

    More info to follow as details get worked out.


  14. Hi Tod. I was looking for a little feedback first. I think the Pismo area is probably already booked pretty solid. I think the Santa Maria Inn may be the place to stay and then take the back way into Pismo. The drive is scenic and pretty short. About 14 minutes. Even Santa Maria will fill up fairly soon so we do need to make a decision on this pretty quick.

  15. Hi everyone! Haven't been around for awhile, but heard there was interest in meeting in CA. We in the Golden State Region POC are setting the date for our annual September meeting. As always, some will have conflicts with just about any date we pick, but I'm thinking that Sept 18-19 would be great for a couple of reasons: 1. It seems to be a date most can meet and 2. It's the date for the annual Pismo Beach Motorcycle Classic! This event commemorates the 1929 rally in Pismo from the famous photo by W.E.M Rolly. I plan on driving my P15 up for the club meeting and riding my Harley there for the reenactment photo on the 19th. How many would be interested in this event and/or date?Pismo-MC-classic.jpg
