  1. I had the fuel pump problem tears ago and used an Allen head screw with a long shoulder on it that fit the pin hole. I put a washer and locknut on it. Never had another problem with it. I can't remember the size of the bolt that I got at the local hardware. JohnS
  2. Can't make it this year as we are planning on driving Route 66.
  3. The Mopars at the Red Barns at Gimore Car Museum is Sat July 30. They have an all Mopar show, car corral and swap meet. The Gilmore Car Museum is located just north of Kalamazoo Michigan in Hickory Corners. The show is from 9am to 3pm, I'll be there with my Barracuda and have a swap space with some P-15 parts. JohnS
  4. The throttle plate goes closed. The problem is the car stalls at low idle and when you turn up the idle to prevent stalling the powerflite transmission jerks hard when shifting into gear. JohnS
  5. John and I are planning on changing to a Carter ball and ball to see if it makes a difference. This will be after the truck comes back from the body shop. JohnS
  6. I used Amsoil in my 3speed with overdrive that I put in my 48 coupe. I ran it for 5000 miles before I sold the car. It shifted well and I never had any trouble with it. JohnS
  7. Sorry to hear about your poor health. Our prayers are with you . I hope to see you again at a future car show.
  8. I got my rebuild parts for a 218 at Terrill Machine in Texas. They had good prices and everything I needed was there.
  9. Sorry to see you go, good luck with your other projects. We'll welcome Chris when he gets here. JohnS
  10. I got my .010 bearings at Terrell Machine in Texas. JohnS
  11. I did the Chocolate and red on Friday. I got to the Chocolate World just as the rain started. I spotted quite a few P-15 parts. I saw a D6G1 carburetor for 10 bucks and a nice 802 radio for 25. JohnS
  12. I'll be there Friday too. Probably try to do the chocolate field. JohnS
  13. Welcome to the forum. I'm in Battle Creek a little west of you. I had a 48 club coupe a few years ago. They ride nice and keep up with traffic especially if you can get an overdrive transmission. They are pretty easy to work on and parts are available. JohnS
  14. I'll check my parts and see if I still have one. JohnS
  15. I used an Allen shoulder bolt instead of the pin. I think it was a 10-24 with a shoulder that was as long as the pin. Then I put a lock nut on it to keep it in place. JohnS
  16. Thanks for the pictures, I missed the meet. We got home from northern MI too late to go. JohnS
  17. It doesn't look like I'll make the Desoto show. We are staying Friday night in Charlevoix and there is a car show there Saturday morning. I probably won't get on the road before 10am for the 4 hour drive home. JohnS
  18. If I get back from our trip to see the grandkids I'll be at the show on Saturday. JohnS
  19. I wish I could be at the WPC meet but I can't this year. I'll miss the evening festivities, they are always fun. Hope you all have a good time. JohnS
  20. After you get it going you need to solder a diode across the points to keep them from arcing.
  21. Let me know when you go to Gilmores, I live in Battle Creek. I,m also close to Kalamazoo so I may run over to see the Desotos.
  22. I always enjoy seeing the forum members at the POC meets. Everyone seems to get along so well. We got home about 11:30am but we had a short trip compared to a lot of people.
  23. Welcome to the forum from another Michigan member.
