  1. The input shaft on the t-5 will have to be changed to a jeep input shaft
  2. LA-TF sorry I'm not familiar with that one if your talking automatic, no thanks I like my 5 speed, I enjoy driving a standard, not sure if it's because that's what I learned to drive with or what. But when I was a kid, and still do, we learned to shift with out using a clutch just by feel. To me that is part of the nastalga of owning and operating an old truck.
  3. I haven't pulled the Trans to verify that it will fit but eye-balling it with a tape measure the bolt pattern looks the same. I'm not wanting a hot rod just an economical everyday driver that will pull something when I need to. I know whichever way I go it's gonna be a lot of work but I've got the pedal assembly from a s-10
  4. Thanks, for the info. I've three engines at my disposal- the two listed and a ford 302 marine engine but with it I'll have to find a bell housing and adapt it to the t5.
  5. That's the direction that I was leaning less likely to need any firewall mods.
  6. I've got two options either 292 inline or 2.8 v6 any suggestions? I've already swapped for a t5 and grand Cherokee rear end so the tranny will bolt up to either.
  7. Hey thanks guys i was just thinking what if and this is certainly a good place to get a good honest answer to a question.
  8. I was wondering has anyone tried flipping the steering linkage to the front side of the axle in order to use a newer style steering box ?
  9. Thx everyone, the Dakota gauges are definitely nice, kinda pricey but hopefully worth it, this one was to large for the speedo hole but I picked up another stock speaker grill and now have two speakers in the dash was contemplating on maybe using those locations for a/c vent if and when I install a/c. Has anyone used the hurricane 1000 unit from oldairproducts? Looks like a pretty slick setup that will fit in the same location as the stock heater.
  10. Thx Merle it has definitely been an interesting ride
  11. I was wondering if anybody knew of a easier way to install the quarter Windows it took me a couple of hours to do one of them haven't got up the want to to do the other one yet. The back window went in in less than 5 min and any ideas on how to straighten a front bumper??

  12. I acquired a 1948 b1b last summer and have been tinkering with it ever since, when I have the time. So far I've done the jeep GC rear end swap, t5 tranny swap and installed Dakota Digital gage cluster. The vacuum wipers have been converted to electric with intermittent setting which was interesting to rig and ate up some of the dash room. I originally had the radio mounted where the orginal gauges where but the fabbed wiper motor ended that. Had to relocate to below the dash. Also spent a lot of time beating out dents, these are some tough trucks!!
