  1. Even with an electric fuel pump Knuckleharley? it takes a split second once key is turned get fuel to the carbs. Right in front of the rear axle. Seems to work great.
  2. I will look into that Plymjim. Yes, i have a clear filter right by carbs. Seems fine and fills fast when key is turned.
  3. I cannot figure out what to do about the way my car is acting up. Accelerating, it has no problem. Holding speed at 30-40 mph, it has no problem. Holding a speed anything higher than that it starts to hesitate and seems to not know really what to do. (It sort of bucks back and forth very subtly). After awhile it even bogs down and even with my foot on the pedal it will stall out. I am no car expert and have the wedding I built this car for coming up so I would like to get it running well. Any tips would help. also, i am running dual carbs from langdon with 3.5lbs of pressure from an electric fuel pump. Thanks
  4. Thank you all for answers! I've got a couple things to do under the car and will then try some of these out and let you know the results!
  5. I have finally gotten the ol' girl on the road after sitting for 20 years and am now on to making her shine! I started this project so that I would have a car I could be proud of leaving my wedding in, in October. I am now on to cosmetics. It is the original Salvador Blue paint and has some character. I do not plan to repaint it. I am needing some very detailed instructions on how to bring this paint back to life seeing that I am a beginner in taking care of a paint job to such an extent. I'd like to know what you did to bring your paint back from being soft and what you do to maintain it. it's getting down to the wire and I've got to get her clean! (also I have never buffed a car...)
  6. I am running langdons carbs on an offenhauser dual and am really impressed. Called Langdon to see what to do with the chokes since I am still 6v and he said they would work fine just a little slower. It runs great and turns heads at meets.
  7. Finally completed putting the car back together (1950 Special Deluxe 3 speed) and cannot get Reverse. Reverse is now 1st gear and I do not know what to do. Any Gear Guru's out there, I need your input and troubleshooting tips.
  8. What do I do with the red wire on the factory harness? Thanks!
  9. Help! Trying to finish up my pertronix ignition system on my 1950 Plymouth that's 6v. How do I integrate the 2 pertronix wires with the factory harness wires to the coil?
  10. I have purchased the Carter Weber Carbs from Langdon and am wondering how to connect the choke pigtails to my wiring harness. The wiring is the original harness (redone by riwire.com) and the car is staying 6V. If i remember correctly, i read somewhere that the choke on the carter weber carbs is 12V. what do i do? Do i even use the pigtails? Needing some advice, Thanks.
  11. I believe it is just a cover for the junction block and wires behind it. The block contains your headlight bucket and horn wires and maybe some more
  12. I am in a pickle. I cannot figure out what size dust caps I need for the front of my p20. The old ones are beat to heck and do not stay on as they should. Does anyone know an accurate size or source to order them? Mine are so beat up I cannot get an accurate reading.
  13. Navyboy, I am about to mount new fuel lines and electric pump and am wondering where you mounted your pump. any way you could post a picture of the placement? I am having trouble finding a good spot to mount it besides infront of the rear axle. I just cant find a good place that it will push fuel well. Also, if anyone else has a picture of their pump placement it would be greatly appreciated!
  14. That would be awesome Plyroadking! I have searched and searched and have yet to find anything. I would like to put the engine back together as original as I can.
