  1. This is my Phat Cycles Tribal cruiser. I have had her for many years and always enjoyed her. Lately where we ride is no longer flat and it was a real struggle to keep up with my daughter on her mountain bike with all the gears. I rode hers and figured out what gears I should change to on the cruiser. Went from a 44/22t combo to a 36/24t combo. Also added a Nexus 3 speed rear hub. Now I have two underdriven gears and a straight through. Works much better bit the coaster brake was not up to the hilly task. Then added a set of calipers to the bike. It took away from the simplistic look I always like, but much nicer to ride.
  2. This is my Phat Cycles beach cruiser. I have had it for many years but felt it needed some gears. Today I swapped out the rear hub for a Shimano Nexus 3. It's now a 3 speed and I just need to tinker with the sprocket sizes a bit more to get her perfect for the hills around here.
  3. This one says made in England somewhere on the bike. To really enjoy it, I need to get a set of tires and true the wheels. It gets alot of questions when I keep it in the back of my Dodge.
  4. Cheesy... it has 28" wheels. It is a very tall and heavy bicycle. My favorite part is the linkage brakes. My neighbor was in the military and brought it home from when he was in Korea. The rear hub dates her as a 1969. I was guessing a bit older due to the linkages and style.
  5. Getting closer... fuel rails built. Almost time to start running vacuum tubing and sensors. Will need to reclock the distributor to get the vacuum advance out of the way too.
  6. Just a quick update. Been busy with sand season so not alot being done on the truck. I did happen to get farther on my Hilborn unit. A buddy of mine made me some spacers that stand the stacks up and give me a place to mount the injectors without tapping the original manifold. Just waiting on the second adapter to be finished and the fuel rails to be tapped. I did speak wit FAST and it looks like they will be the EFI computer for me! Hopefully I can get more work done on this shortly.
  7. I got a free frame today for my 55. The main reason for getting it was the home built power steering setup. Somebody fabbed up a custom bracket and installed a power Saginaw box. Gonna swap this over to my 55 shortly!
  8. I run at 70-75 on the highway but also run low profile radials. Sway bar is on the list after getting my Hilborn working. Hopefully you will figure it out shortly!
  9. The damper will just mask the problem. I think fixing the box would be more important. As for the sway bar, I plan on doing front and rear. With the speeds I drive, I think it would help with handling. The rear is pretty easy and I have an Explorer bar I was going to use. The front I haven't figured out yet.
  10. I would love to see what you come up with for a front sway bar. That is on my list!
  11. I run the Scarbird up front and a Corvette dual master in the stock location. Stops great and no booster needed. I will have disc's on the back once I figure out what rear axle I will use.
