  1. Gravel shields weren't on my CC when it was purchased, but I really would like a pair myself!
  2. On modern era aircraft screws and rivets are all countersunk, not buttonhead. This is to lessen the drag at any altitude. The vortex generated by protruding screws and rivets would change the path of the boundry layer to swirl instead of glide smoothly over the AC body thus requiring more power than the airframe was designed for, also it would go beyond the airframe stress tolerances, thats a bad thing.
  3. is the part I need. I'm curious, what was the hardest part to date, for you to find for your respective vehicles? To me it seems it would be the 2 beltline trim pieces on the cowl, they are missing in about every picture I have seen. Due either to rusted clips or missing mirrors. Mine were in the glovebox thanks for small favors! For me it is the ever elusive decorative bumperjack. Don't want to use it, just want to display it. I will continue my search have already found the base pictured in my manual. that was probably the easy piece! Good hunting and good luck, Frankie.
  4. Does it matter6/12 volt ? Does it matter6/12 volt for a" test speaker" on a 6v radio?
  5. Chrysler made modern outboard motors and fiberglass boats also.
  6. That looks like an original oxidized, faded, black factory paint job to me. That is the same shape my military maroon is in on my CC:eek:
  7. 2 of the cats look like they are about to square off under the ladder.
  8. Red and white painted on pin stripe art looks good on on satin black!
  9. Just Came in from putting them up, thank goodness for a small house, don't feel neutral anymore, just cold! I want to change my vote to, PBR and watch football, NAVY 34-ARMY 0, 7 wins in a row for Navy.
  10. Heck Andy, when they first moved the Hi-Lo switch from the floor to the control stalk, I kept getting my foot stuck in the steering wheel, took a while but I finally got the HANG of it!
  11. Sure would need a long leg to reach a floor mounted starter button on RHD!
  12. My great uncle Ralph used to ask questions of me that were brain teasers, as you can tell he caused permanent damage. He would say to me, How Long is a Chinaman. I would give him all kind of heights and lengths and he would just smile and shake his head ever so slightly, and reply no, that is not the answer. Finally he answered me with, Yes he is, and left me to stew about that for some time. It took sometime but I finally figured it out, he wasn't asking me anything rather he was telling me that How Long was indeed, from China!
  13. Merle, quit playing man! That sounds wonderful, we are going to try that for X-mas:). Probablt just a TSP would do it. Thinking of trying sorgum too.
  14. I was HOPING for a RUSTY shovel, but that'll do just fine.
  15. Dennis, 26 was probably warm compared to the temp of those stethscopes in the VA! been there didn't want to do that..brrrr!
  16. That took longer than I thought it would:) ! You guys got to the gist of the matter rather quickly on the mirror advice, what a decision to make, they all look pretty good to me! Really would prefer to go with the swans, guess its time to save up again.
  17. Frank M. Comes through again! Thank you.
  18. Mine had a diagnostic port right on top of the drivers side fender well.
  19. My 84 had the exhaust manifold, pipe, small converter or some thing you could see it by opening the hood, then underneath the actual converter followed by the muffler back by the axle.Never did find out what the first one was but the second"converter" was indeed plumbed into the smog pump. When my smog pump seized up and failed, we installed straight pipe to replace it, truck ran better and my exhaust didn't look like a constrictor with belly full of gerbils!
  20. The clock that is closest to lunchtime is always right! :D
  21. When I was growing up in south texas, peeecan pie not pawcan pie, was also called Caro nut pie, after 1 of the main ingredients caro syrup. Yummy!
  22. Then as a swabbie you should have been taught to pay attention to detail, and to "sweat the small stuff". That is of course only prevelant if you want to listen to someone elses opinion instead of thinking yours is the only one that counts. You can always tell a sailor, but you can't tell him much, not a saying to be proud of. Frank Elder, AMH2
  23. Thank you, laynrubber, look forward to seeing your pictures! Tim, your information as usual is very insightful, you are 99.9 % right on the cosmetics, I know this sounds silly but in order to compensate for lack of clear field of sight on the left peep I applied a bubble mirror over the top of the standard mirror and got good results. Just wasn't willing to go that route on the drivers side. Too dangerous. Thanx, Frankie.
  24. And $$$.
  25. I bought some generic peep style mirrors because they were plentiful and really liked the looks of them, I just don't like looking into them! How rare of a find are the original swan style mirrors[Chrysler models only?] that grace the beltline, and what are the alternatives? Frank M. you must have the answer to this one! 1947 d-24 CC
