  1. I got these springs from Espo Springs n' Things a loooooog time ago. I believe they're still in good shape.
  2. Hi, guys. I replaced the passenger side leaf spring bushings in just a few minutes... but the driver's side has my scratching my head. The fuel tank blocks removal of the shackle. Am I missing something here? How have y'all dealt with this? Thank you in advance.
  3. Thank you, DJK. I thought I'd give it a shot and went ahead and ordered one the same day Sniper posted about it. Will have it by Wednsday.
  4. Yes - it's for my 1950 Plymouth and, yep, that's the thing I must be looking for. Thank you for your specific answer. Much appreciated.
  5. Good afternoon. I have traced a significant oil leak to where the speedo cable screws into the tranny. I'm not really sure what's wrong... What is the most common culprit here? What is the most likely part name or number that I need to replace? Thanks y'all.
  6. Great. Thank you.
  7. Is this the right sleeve for the yoke? https://www.ebay.com/itm/184552342529?mkevt=1&mkpid=0&emsid=e11051.m43.l1123&mkcid=26&ch=osgood&euid=e293c95ababe4ce795801d44090c3680&bu=43159620293&osub=-1~1&crd=20220505091934&segname=11051&sojTags=ch%3Dch%2Cbu%3Dbu%2Cosub%3Dosub%2Ccrd%3Dcrd%2Csegname%3Dsegname%2Cchnl%3Dmkcid
  8. What size speedi sleeve did you get?
  9. The wheels are stock! I'll shoot you a pic of those tires when the car arrives in Florida in a couple of weeks if you pm me, though!
  10. Thanks for your comments. I have had this car since I was 15. I'm 44 now. This was a once-in-a-lifetime operation addressing some rust issues in the body and a total repaint, which eliminated the weird sparkly baby blue color that this poor car had been wearing since the 70s. The car did have all the trim, lettering, and badging in decent condition - but I always thought it made the car look too frumpy for my taste. I like that big blunt nose without the hood ornament. Mine was kind of beat anyway. I like that there's no script anywhere I am keeping everything, though, in case I or a future owner want to restore it to stock condition. I want to get some wider smoothies for it. It needs a new interior. I'd like to add some headers - and then I think it really will be done. : )
  11. Haha. I didn't mean to tease, I also didn't want to seem like I was bragging...
  12. Thanks very much for your input. I got all the stuff I needed. The car is *done*. : )
  13. Hello everybody. My 1950 Plymouth is nearly completely restored. These are the last things I need and I'm having a hard time finding a vendor that sells them. I would greatly appreciate any help: 1. window retaining clips x6 2. rubber bumper stop set 3. horseshoe clips that hold the door locks in place x2 I have tried to contact AMS Obsolete many times. They only have one number that I know of and it is perpetually busy. I did manage to talk to one person who said they would get back to me - but he never did. I have also called Bernbaum. Any ideas for other vendors? Looking forward to your responses. Thanks in advance.
  14. Thanks guys for all the responses. They have given me a lot to think about. The issue has been settled. I am getting LEDs.
  15. Hi everybody. I'm having my car painted and my body guy asked me something I'd never really considered before - "upgrading" to LEDs. Are there any cons to doing this that I'm not considering? Seems like a no-brainer. I don't drive in the dark much and I didn't mind my warm, yellow old lights... but this is actually a safety issue. Are there any reasons NOT to do it besides an allegiance to probably pointless sentimentality?
  16. I'm not much for "blogging" - but I'll def post some pics and may damn well appeal to this very thread in a breakdown somewhere in Appalachia! Thanks for your response. Good info.
  17. Wow - I'd never heard of that. Interesting option! Thanks.
  18. Not above 23 mph in mine. You can engine-brake downhill for sure!
  19. I'd heard the same thing about reverse in O/D... but George Asche said it was fine to do it and I found this image somewhere... what are your thoughts on that?
