  1. Thanks 4mula-dlx. Do you think your master cylinder would work with the original drum brakes? That is just too funny pflaming.
  2. 4mula-dlx, does yours have a proportioning valve on it? I looked at a 1990 Cherokee master cylinder but it looks different than the one in your pictures. Yours looks more like a 1995 Cherokee master cylinder.
  3. Thanks. I will be sure and get a professional for the glass. It took me almost 2 months just to get it cranked! Ha!
  4. Thanks 4mula-dlx. I might have to consider your master cylinder swap.
  5. Well, after a new set of points, new condenser, wiring the coil in the right direction, a couple shots of starter fluid, and a little gas, the old truck fired up and after a couple of hiccups it runs like a sewing machine. transmission shifts through all the gears great. I think now we will start on the breaks.
  6. I will try to look it up that way. I am afraid this may not be the original engine. Wondering if anybody else had this same distributor and would have the part numbers. I know somebody earlier said it was not unusual to have different part numbers depending on the exact distributor you had.
  7. Thanks. If I can get it going I would like to upgrade it to electronic ignition later on. I would like to know a part number for the points, condenser, and cap though if anybody could give me one.
  8. O.K. guys. I finally was able to read the number on the distributor. IAT-4101 3H29553 Can anybody give me part number for the points, condenser, and cap? Also, is it ok to use a coil with an internal ballest rather than using one with an external ballest? Thanks
  9. Hey guys, I think I have read that their are maybe a few differnt sets of points these trucks might have came with, would anybody have a part number off the top of their head? I am assuming that since there are different part numbers they are not interchangable.
  10. I did not know about the Tech center, knowledge center, or associated printer. I will have to take a look at it., now that I have the link. I did not mean to start anything. I just like getting advice from you guys. Like I said though, if my dad was still here it would be going down the road by now. I just learn best by learning from others who have already done it or dealt with the issue. Pictures help too. Thanks.
  11. Thanks! We are going to try another day. Thanks Mere, and Don and Plymouthy Adams. I just got frustrated with it. Being positive ground and short patience and all the frayed wiring has just got me frazzled. I just wanted it to fire off today. I am going to take a breath, buy some new points and a coil, and try next weekend maybe. If my dad was still alive he would be driving it down the road by now, but I did not inherit his mechanical ingenuity.
  12. No. No manuel. Sorry to be simplistic. We are just trying to see if it has any fire right now. Just trying to see if it is still positive ground where the wire from the distributor should go to. Where Should the wire from the coil that says bat go to and the wire from the distributor go to?
  13. So if it is positive ground, the wire from the distributor should go to which contact?
