  6. I have a 1948 Plymouth I am getting information from two different places on the web. Please help. http://www.allpar.com/fix/points.html and The PDF here shows different. Spark plug on allpar says .35 gapped and on the PDF file shows .025 Distributor Points on allpar says .020 and on the PDF say .025 I started to change all these because my car started to turn off at a light or stop sign after driving 20 minutes or so. Notices it was misfiring. So I changed Distributor Cap, Rotor, Condenser, Points & coil. All new now. Still was giving me problems, Changed Gas filter, Gas pump and got Carburetor rebuilt. Still misfiring. couple of month before I change sparkplugs and wires. Now I want to go back to square one. I know now by removing the spark plugs and seeing black that Carburetor was part of the problem. Any help will be good. QBA
  7. Do you have pics of your Car? put some pics up please.
  8. Torrance wow. That is cool. That is a good find. I always say DODGE and PLYMOUTH are harder to find parts.
  9. I used the 500 Dyno Heat Tested Engine Enamel Ceramic. What I like about this one that it goes on really easy and if you need to touch it up, you can't tell you touched it up. Goes on nice and easy. I am not a paint guy but I touch it up when ever I can. I had a sheet that said what is Flat Black and what is Glossy Black and Silver. I will try to locate it and if i do I will add it.
  10. Are you running 6V or 12V. I am running 6V still.
  11. I had the same problem with my 1948 Plymouth, I change to new cables (2 gauge of course), Selonoid, Starter. I charged the battery full made sure it was working. After 4 years and 2 batteries I gave in and paid for a Optima 6V battery from NAPA Auto parts. Guess what I have no more problems. The car starts right away. Even after driving it for about 30 to 40 minutes Starts right up. Before when I drove it for that long it would not start. It wanted to but sounded tired. The power that Optima gives is a lot more than the regular 6V. Try it. I know some people hate them but works for me. That is all that matters. I also have a D24 Dodge, When I am not sure I take parts from it and to see if it works on the other car. This way I know what could be the problem. Helps me a lot, Good luck, LFT
  12. Yeah, its not only that the car is tall but also the fender is wide. I am 5.5' and Its hard to reach over. But I did the spark plugs first, I got mine in 2010 and still till this day have not changed it. If it ran fine, I left it alone. As I learned more and more I got more into it. Welcome to the P15-D24 club. Put up pics, We love pics. LFT
  13. Done it. Thank you for your support. Its true "Won't learn how any younger". After leaving it for almost 24 hours and filling it with antifreeze time to drive it after work tonight. And if all works out fine Tomorrow Fundraiser for the Humane Society of Imperial County, CA.
