Stopped or moving at a slow speed, the steering wheel is harder to turn, but driving is much easier. Tread width problem? Dunno.

The trip to town and back went with no problems.  55mph for 9 miles each way.  Big grin.

I find Champion plugs good for distance. I put Chryco plugs in my car and I can throw Champions farther than any other brand.

Hope you don't get stopped by the police. Ticket for sure.

Hope you don't have to stop suddenly or hit something. Grandson insured for sure.

Do it properly and protect yourself, your car, and most importantly your grandson.

Where I live, doing what your are planning would result in a huge fine and possible loss of licence.

Shazzaam Shazzaam  Sergeant  Carter. I have never seen them before. I know Andy Bernbaum's got all the Rubber ones for Pot Metal Housings to the Body and License Plate Light.
I would probably opt cut my own before I would pay $24.95 for two little Gaskets. Just saying.

Got the Meadowbrook back on the road.  The brakes work pretty good, but I’m not a great expert on the bleeding process. After work tomorrow morning I’m heading to a friend’s to put the car up on his hoist.  We’ll get the brakes bled properly then.

Here’s a shot while it was warming up.  Felt spectacular to be behind the wheel again.  My kids rode into town with me to get gas.  Can’t wait to drive to work tomorrow morning!

I have a box full of old electronic equipment power supplies and many have an output of 7 volts. No point in spending cash on a battery tender when these old power supplies can get the job done by simply adding a couple of alligator clips.

I have changed a half dozen hydraulic switches from motor cycles, to foreign and domestic cars and trucks and never needed to bleed any of them.  This is a personal experience observation. Your situation might not yeild the same results.

How is your vacuum gauge connected? Sounds as if it is connected to the vacuum advance port at the base of the carburetor. Should be connected to the intake manifold.

Niel Hoback reacted to Tom Skinner in Is this valve/tappet noise???
    Jimy,
Some mechanics set their Valves a tad over the .012 and .010 for if the vehicle will be driven on hot days for long periods the valves wouldn't burn up.
Usually this is the case in trucks. An old mechanic in the 70's told me real quiet valves are more likely to burn up. A little ticking keeps them ticking - he said in other words noisy  valves tended to be happier valves. They would last longer. Just a little story that I found comical that took place some 44 years ago.

LOVE it! Not everything needs to be restored or modified, and seeing basically stock unrestored cars being drive around will probably inspire some people to look for their own old cars to fix as "drivers". People that just have a casual interest in old cars are intimidated by the complexity, expense, and time of a restoration, but showing them it's ok to just put one back on the road without spending tens of thousands on a restoration is ok,too.

Plus, even some people that might prefer a restoration just don't have the tools, the time, the experience,or even a place to work with the room needed to do a restoration may even come to understand a presentable,if not perfect, car you can drive beats the  hell out of something you MIGHT be able to drive several years from now if everything goes perfectly.

AND....,IMNSHO,it's driver cars that people see running around locally on trips to the store, etc, etc, etc that pulls new blood into the hobby, not show cars at car shows. People that go to car shows are already interested in old cars.
