  1. The light and heater worked just fine. Now the question is what to do about the other switches that the escutcheons that were removed!
  2. That might be the problem. I remember the bezels were a pain in the butt to get off. They probably weren't meant to and I made it happen. I might need to get new cables or try to thread the ones I have now. Anyone know a good place to get new cables? Thanks for making me feel a little better about the situation.
  3. The switches are the same as I took them off. I remember them attached to the dash. For some reason this is kicking my butt...more than anything else. Shouldn't be this hard!!! Someone pass me a beer.
  4. The chrome 'nut' does not engage the threads....The nut came from a NOS kit.
  5. That's what I figured. I have the paper washer...check Push the unit through the dash...check The only problem is the threaded chrome piece cannot engage the unit. I'll post pictures of what I'm talking about because it is hard to explain. Thanks for everyones help
  6. I have a 1947 Plymouth Special Deluxe. I'm having trouble with the head lights, throttle, choke, heater fan and temp control. I see the switches are threaded but the chrome bezels will not thread on. thanks again
  7. Ok...my dash is in and I took pics of where all the knobs went. I started installing and I can't get the chrome 'bezels' to secure the knobs on the front of the dash? What gives...Any help will be greatly appreciated by my wife since I'm banging my head on the walls!
  8. I have the nails out and can probably reuse. I did find a piece of new 'cloth' like material that looks like fenderwelt but has a channel in the middle. I'm thinking that this was used for that purpose. Thanks
  9. Need a little help here. I bought my first MOPAR, a P-15, and am starting to put it back together and have a few questions: 1. Should there be fenderwelt on the front panels, and if so, how far up? 2. The body has a line of 'screw' nails that run just under the hood. What was tacked there? Thanks
  10. Did you have rust under the car? The bottom of mine is rusted but nothing too serious. NO penetrations. Just worried because the previous owner kept it outside for over a year without covering.
  11. Your car is great looking. Thanks for the picture. It's extra motivation to get mine done. So far I have ripped the interior out, de-rusted the trunk and cabin area, starting rewiring and blasting the engine compartment. Unfortunately my garage does not have room to remove the body from the frame. How hard will this be for an end to the means? The previous owner removed the original knobs, including the echelons. I might be in trouble there....more to follow
  12. Hey all, I'm restoring a 47 Special Deluxe. Have it gutted and starting removing rust. IT's coming along great. I need help finding dash knob replacements. Most were missing. Any advice? Thanks
