  1. I want to put disc brakes on my pickup and need input from this group. Is a Mustang II front end still the way to go? And if so, which manufacture is recommended? Thank you, Dave
  2. I have had the rear axle off my 53 Dodge pickup for a couple years and about to reinstall it. Does anyone have a schematic or a picture so I ensure I do it correctly? Memory is rusty.... Thanks.
  3. Thank you both for your feedback. I am wanting to keep it pretty basic to start. Reliable and functional and then determined next steps.
  4. I am finally serious about working on the truck. Want to have disc brakes all around. Rad in the forums that a Cerokee or wrangler 2000 or later rear end is a good swap. For the front suspension, is the Mustang II the way to go? I.would like to lock down the specifics before starting up. Thanks.
  5. I appreciate all the good input. Not traveling next weekend so will give it a go. I'll update this post withe results. Thanks again for all the input!
  6. The rear brake bleeders on my truck are frozen. I have placed generous amounts of liquid wrench on them over a couple weeks. Looks like whoever had it last rounded the corners off so I can't get a good socket grip on them. How would you go about getting them loose? Thanks.
  7. Thanks for the guidance. I will search for the articles you referenced. I want to get the truck reliable and functional. II appreciate the feedback!
  8. I need your input. I have a 1953 pilot house with a flathead 6. The front suspension is shot as is the brakes and the rear end. The front suspension is worn out as well. The body is n remarkably good shape. I want to upgrade the axle, brakes, and steering, and suspension so I can have a good daily driver. What has worked well for the members here? I could use some direction from those that know. Thank you.
