  1. Do you want a nice and shiny one, or a patinaed and used one?
  2. Just a wild guess, but it sort of seems like someone’s attempt at a home made thermostat. The butterfly allowing them to control the heat or bypass. I could very well be wrong.
  3. What about having it lien saled? At least in ca that is one way it is done without a title…..
  4. Do you have family/friends in any other state you can sell it to to get the title, then buy it back? Or is that even more of a headache?
  5. I work at night and have made similar types of purchases around 3 in the morning or so…..”It’s only $xxx” which doesn’t sound like much when you are groggy! I really need to go back to days!
  6. Just throwing this out there - even ca will let you apply for a lost title. Can you do the same with either state and request a duplicate title? Or what do you do in OH if the vehicle is completely out of the system?
  7. I recently tried LED headlights in Hella housings and they were certainly bright as RPM was increased. I read one comment that said they flickered a lot. In my experience, they were right. The lights were very dim at idle and flickered like crazy. I finally took them out and am using Octane brand h4 halogens 55/60w. I am very happy with that set up.
  8. I had the same problem - the bracket pulled loose from the column. Driving through town with only second and third gear was a pain, but I got it home. I welded it back on (pretty ugly), but it now works again. long story short - yes, the bracket is spot welded.
  9. Forgive me if this sounds like I sound like I am talking down (I really am not), but is your car a Fluid Drive? That would explain some of the symptoms….. Is your clutch slipping?
  10. I bought a budget Scarebird kit for my truck (one of the few kits they had left), now just need time to put it on. I am curious about this place: https://www.rusticdiscbrakes.com/ Has anyone dealt with them before? Looks like they use off the shelf parts, except rotors, which may still be off the shelf, but just modified…
  11. That is an awesome truck and story! I wish you were not on the other coast, that would just be awesome to check out in person! Just curious, could you throw up a couple photos of the other truck too?
  12. It is a shame though, I enjoyed dealing with them! On a side note, Scarebird is closing up shop as well. I have done a lot of business with them as well and always had a good experience with them. Damn shame is what it is!
  13. Odd - me too! I guess we just keep selling them to each other!
  14. I could be mistaken, BUT that looks like a Ford 9 inch….. which would then create a whole new list of questions. Have you had the drums off to confirm it is a Dodge set up?
  15. Thank you all for the help and resources! It looks like I will have a little bit of a project ahead, but now have some good resources!
  16. This is the only picture I have this year - the maiden voyage of my 1940 Chrysler New Yorker….. and we ran out of gas! I would like to honorable mention this one - it technically breaks the rules because it was last year, but it is my favorite of this one…..
  17. Worst was in October - traveling for work. Had lunch and then hit Starbucks for a coffee after. Well, my body said it was time and there was no stopping it! One toilet open. Seeing as it was off the highway, it got a lot of use and little attention. Sat down and my body was doing its thing when I looked and there was NO toilet paper. I used a stack of seat covers. Those hurt - it was almost like using printer paper, but I was able to make them work!
  18. Thank you, I tried that site, but I was unable to bring anything up. I was hoping someone might have saved it… Thank you!
  19. Hi All! I am at the point that I would like to do some of the wiring for my truck - 1951 B-3-B. I ran new wiring from the dimmer switch to the front and rear lights when I added turn signals. I now need to do the charging circuit and under the dash. I have bought from Rhode Island Wiring before and really like their harnesses, but for the truck, I decided to make my own. On the DPETCA site, there was a link about how to make one and it contained wire lengths, gauges, etc. obviously, I can’t use that at this point. I even tried the Wayback machine and that did not work. Does anybody have a copy of this article or a write up about how they did theirs? I tried looking, but could not find anything. Please forgive me if it is there. Thank you! Nick
  20. That is an awesome looking truck! Go for it!
  21. Great looking car! Should be a great project. Is the bumper sticker staying?
  22. The rear end really is not too hard. You just need to be patient. Take your time. It does not use a crush sleeve, and uses side adjusters for carrier preload and backlash. I have had mine apart, and it was relatively simple. Make sure to mark everything. Be prepared for a speedi sleeve for the yoke. One of the harder things is to find the pinion depth and pinion bearing preload shims.
  23. Try another condenser. The new ones suck. I have more than I can recall go bad across all brands in the last few years. I now carry spares in my cars.
