  1. oh, look, this came back up! is there enough interested to pursue? or is it to soon still? so, were parking light housings part of the package also?
  2. boy, there is an OT of it's own.... you seem pretty spoiled to have a sink. here in the great Northwest we are left to nature it can get pretty cold in the winter
  3. Congarts indeed! that is awesome! even though step- grandchildren or not, i bet you spoil them all the same
  4. keep reeling Mark, i think you've got him......
  5. seems we had a 90 cherokee once that had a shift solenoid issue and would not let the selector move.....
  6. i would have guessed this is a fluid issue if it worked before, was the torque converter drained? but you probably shifted through all the gears and checked the level and topped off as needed already. sorry man.
  7. From where i sit, you look more blessed than wrong to have such good freinds that care enough about you to say something and keep us all on a safe path. keep those coments comming Paul, i am learning alot (except for the truck painting )
  8. Jim. do the COE's have the VIN number stamped on the frame? (maybe it was already tittled with that frame) either way i suspect you will be having fun on this one.... i am suprised how little rust it look like it has for being in Washington
  9. nice! just got mine back today and I tried something like that but my wife wouldn't go for it (.... "but honey, Mark F. had parts in his living room it on his build....." ) OK.......
  10. wow, what a luxury.... i don't have the original bottom seat but i will be putting some holes for that adjustment! Thanks Merle
  11. does anyone have a photo of the "index" or underside of the bottom of the seat frame? what would the purpose of multiple holes be if the seat adjusts in the center? i noticed blocks of wood in my parts truck to keep the pins from collapsing.... are these needed?
  12. glad to hear the phone service is good... i went there a couple weeks ago to look at truck parts and that service was lacking... but, then again i have recently run into a lack of customer service every where i look.... going on 13 weeks to get my seats rebuilt!
  13. LOL......... I found one on a 49' in Vancouver but the guy wouldn't take $350. for it I don't think my truck will ever be "show" quality.... this was just one of those thing I have been thinking about for 28 years. I also thought it could open up possibilities for others as options.... different glass i.e. Pilot house, job rated.... or even routed wood. heck, it could end up a part of my wife's greenhouse
  14. Not sure if this is considered OT or not….. This is not my idea, I saw it on a 50 something Chevy back in 1986. I have always thought this would be fun to have (and yes I know not practical) it will be 1/2 “ glass with etched outline, DODGE and 1951 I have checked previous threads and haven’t seen one (probable for a reason) sorry if I am taking someone’s idea This is the last thing I need to be working on but, I am so frustrated with my brakes I started this. (the black areas will be shrunk by about 1/2" from the edges and the glass edges will be wrapped in a "u channel" where it touches the metal ) Looking for some advice; 1.) on the latch, should I shrink the latch or lower it flush with what will be the backside? 2.)any opinion on tempered Vs. laminated glass? I have heard of tempered laminated glass… not sure 3.) should I leave the area under the latch, exposed glass with the “clipped” look or trimmed out with the ½” tubing? the 1/2" tubing will be a removable "frame" (for when it breaks) Thanks, by the way I live on a 1 mile gravel road……
  15. nice grab! i missed that one! going to Christmas Valley next weekend to stare at the sand for a second..... i didn't look at all the photo's were there any pilothouse p/u? is this an annual event?
  16. worked on every ones favorite.... bleeding the brakes. small drip at the main junction near the battery but, the major leak is from the brand new front cylinders! very frustrating, I have fallen victim to lack of quality parts.... hope the vendor will make it right... still, a bad day working on the truck is better than a good day at work
  17. Hank, don't you live in the sunshine state? i didn't know they used heaters or wipers down there
  18. Guys, thank you! i just needed it spelled out for me i will take and use the advice. i do enjoy the forum (almost to the point of addiction ) sure wish there were more pilot house members in Oregon...... Brent
  19. I am not a "social media" person at all, in fact, this forum is my first involvement of any kind. I am kind of feeling bad for "hi-jacking" some threads that others have started when it involves a subject I have been working on or have a question about. everybody has been more than nice about it, but I don't want to be the conversation killer or have guys ticked I took over with my own issues. so my questions are; #1 is there a "cool off" period I should wait before asking on a topic for myself? or should I start a new thread? #2 when is it ok to PM someone with a question when they are clearly knowledgeable about a topic? #3 is it rude of me not to respond to everyone that has input on a topic I started? #4 is the "chat room" by invitation only? (I see people on it but not sure how it works) #5 what is the "warnings" on the person profile page? #6 when and why do you add a "friend" on the profile page? I know this is probably basic stuff I should know. this is my first vehicle ever and I have had my truck since 1981 and torn apart since 1982. I enjoy the forum and need the knowledge from the guys that have it. Just trying to fit in...... Brent
  20. don't know if this will help or not.... (don't know if it is correct or not either off my 53 parts truck)
  21. I think you are my new best friend i am in the exact same position right down to the "over thinking". working on the brakes (perfect timing after Hank has figured everything out for me) Thanks, that was my next question tipping it on the nose and shooting under the dash. (when are you or 4mula-dlx coming to Oregon )
