Hi Brent,
I am sure I did everything correctly (lol) but after putting the cap onto the tranny case the gear shifter does not engage ANY of the gears.
Before putting the cap on I was able to move the gears by hand into every gear smoothly.
I didn't do anything to the cap while making the repairs to the tranny.
Any ideas of what went wrong? Are there any videos on how the cap should 'look' or how it should be 'positioned' when setting it onto the case?
At this rate I may have to tow my baby to the BBQ next April and let the crew there take a crack at it and when we get it put in we all can hear it fired up for the first time in 25 years.
Next time I will remember it is easier to maintain an old truck rather than restore one.

Hi Ken!
no videos that I know of....
you know, this last transmission I put in, I had the same issue. I ended up pulling the top three or four times, spinning the output shaft (by hand) going through the gears until I found the “sweet spot” (Same thing you have done)Hang in there, I want to think it is the position of the gears not the cap that is the issue.... you’ll get it.
if you don’t, let me know and I’ll set up my spare and see if I can send you a video.

Hi thanks for you help with my fluid drive input shaft. I think I found one thanks to one of the guys. You wouldn’t happen to have a input shaft retaining nut that threads onto the shaft would you.
Thanks

Interior looking nice. Did you sneak off and get your truck all back together and not tell us or show photos?
BTW, after losing about a year to back injuries (long, stupid stories), the 67 Barracuda is finally at the body shop. When I get photos of it blasted, I'll share.

Brent, I live in the large shop building, green roof, 8' Rooster, just to the east of MM 250, in MT. Happy Trails, that's where I am on your route. There's a billboard with a bunch of logo's.
