:DGot the old girl to start today idles a little high but works. Gotta finish up welding the exhaust and get the front end buttoned up then taking it out for a cruise.
Man what a trip. Can't wait til it is all finished up. Waiting until after we move to do any interior or body work. Just get it together for now so we can pull it home.
Thanks to all that helped me along the way I am sure I will be on here with more questions shortly.
Merle, I thought that did look deceiving but I knew you guys would figure it out. I have been staring at wiring diagrams for two days and have come to the conclusion that I may never figure them out but will keep trying.
So got the cab lined up to make the new body mounts I think they are coming along good.
I have been working also on a suitable radiator think I am going with the one from the dakota man this is a lot of work. haha
Here are some pics of what I think is progress.
I don't know if this will work for a pilothouse but usually you can put the rubber on the window and a piece of string all the way around the outside then set the glass on the opening and pull the string, with the seal in tow, through the opening.
Hope this helps.
I just willed the wire to stay in place. Haha
No the cab is still sitting in the same place have had no time lately hoping to get to it some next weekend.
To put you all at ease I have found a local buyer guy down the street has a 54 that he is building and is going to take it off my hands.
thanks for the input.
Dan I am going to Bragg so probably in the Fayetteville area.
Bud I consistantly check your old threads for how to. And test fit is coming this weekend. should be good though fit good with the tunnel not trimmed and put in yet so am crossing my fingers.
Now you got me worried. Are you talking about the lip on the tunnel under the seat? I am definately a novice at this and love all the help I can get. The toeboard is the piece that the tunnel runs through now right?
Got the tunnel tacked into place cut the sheet metal from the tailgate off the 96 dakota. but just glad to be back and doing something toward an end state. Still have lots to do to fill in the gaps on firewall and floorboards, slow and steady.
I still have the frame and engine, that was running less than 2 months ago, from my 52. I hate to scrap it but have to downsize work is shipping me off to NC and don't want to drag it across the U.S.
Any reasonable offer will be accepted.
Thanks Guys.
P.S. I pulled the radiator
