  1. Did you ever solve your hood opening problem with the center chrome strip?  .. Just wondering what the problem was.

Hi Dave I have not found a solution for the problem with the hood I have tried to  lift the front and slide the hood into the strip but the return lip on the strip doesn't seem to sit into the return lip on the hood so when you lift the hood it drops out so I don't think it's the right piece of trim.

Sorry about that, I don’t know what to tell you.  There are several auto salvage yards in the U.S. that have old Mopar cars.  Moore’s auto Salvage is  one.  They are in Rapid City, South Dakota, and they have a web site.  Perhaps they can help you.

  2. Webster Radiator on rt 264 in Washington, NC may be able to help you.  I brought a radiator there several years ago to be repaired but they told me that the core was Swiss cheese and couldn't be soldered.  They could get a core for it, but it would have cost near $400 at the time.  I told them to forget it.  They do all kinds of Auto and truck work as well as repair radiators for Norfolk & Southern.

Thanks, that's not close, but it's close enough to make it worth my while. I'll do a web search for his number and call him next week for an re-core estimate for my 39 IHC. Haven't been able to drive it for months now.
