  1. Turn the wheels...worked on my two 54 Plymouths and 52 Dodge.
  2. Dan, I initially thought it was clogged up. But when pulled, no gas, not a drop came out.
  3. Not sure. They were all like this one and could be blown thru with air. Search me?
  4. Live and learn, it is not blocked, that is the baffle in the pic.
  5. Replaced my fuel filter after it got clogged with some rust. Standard NAPA brand. Could not get the car to start! Went and bought another "clear" fuel filter and checked out the other one....no wonder it would not work!
  6. Keep me in mind if you ditch the Gyromatic. I picked up a 52 Desoto that could use extra parts.
  7. I run the National 5w-30 in my old flatheads. I also add a bottle of the blue STP. Adds up to about $10 per oil change.
  8. Hy Drive motor I pulled apart had the oil ports thru the block oil channel, to the transmission. Also, a nice 9 quart oil change to go with it! There is a 1/2 inch nipple that directs the oil returning from the transmission pouring into the pan. That funny looking thing on the oil draft pipe I think is to keep oil from spewing out?
  9. You guys think its bad...our chickens are moulting and we are getting zero temps!
  10. As it stands now I am waiting back to hear from some guys that may do it for extra cash, not in the hauling business. One guy has hauled a car for me before. Could have been a real bad experience, that is for sure.
  11. Is the date code on that engine block 1929?
  12. So I go to one of those hauler websites, enter in the info, and have about 10 companies email and call me prices to haul my ride. I narrow it down to one guy, easy to talk to, does not talk bad about his competition, has good reviews. Keep in mind he bid the job based on the car info I provided. So we get down to wire...setting a date for hauling. The day we are set to make the deal, I get an email saying his hauler wants another $100! The driver says "the weight and length of the vehicle warrants more." Have not heard from the broker. No money ever changed hands thankfully.
  13. Both nuts can be adjusted. I just started tweeking them until I could shift correctly. I did not fix anything, I just compensated.
  14. I agree on driving depending on oil pressure. Lots of cars knock or ping, and last for years!
  15. My 3 on the tree was mucked up, could not get into 2nd or 3rd. I adjusted the linkage in the pic.
  16. The clutch pedal would say Hy Drive. Usually the pedal is red. Sure you have a 3 on the tree?
  17. Sounds like you have the Tip toe shift or Gyromatic as they call it for Dodge. The wires follow down to the transmission. One big thing is you have to get the RPM down to 450-475. Seems low, but that will allow the vehicle to shift correctly.
  18. I think the guy on Ebay does the ones for Plymouth's. They can be tough to find. Usually they are eaten up or weathered away.
  19. My dad taught me to use a 1-1/4 socket to set the plug. Or was it 1-1/2?
  20. If I had a larger amount of it I would send it in for a oil test. But that costs $21. The oil was stored in a heated basement since 1995. They even applied for the $3.60 rebate!
