  1. Off your immediate question, which I'm unable to help with, but what is that drawing from? Looks very helpful, but I've not seen that type of service illustration before.
  2. That's true isn't it. I won't worry about it, thanks.
  3. I'll be darned. It IS a very precise adjustment. Funny the things one discovers when you start putting it back together. Thanks for that info. For some reason, before I bought the truck in '74, someone changed a front brake drum, because now I have 2 left-hand thread front wheels. Probably not a great idea, though I never had a wheel come off.
  4. Ah HA! Those look perfect! And my truck came without one. I don't suppose one of those is for sale? I suppose one could be fashioned out of some sheet metal or aluminum and do the job.
  5. PHOTO 1 - These two parts remained unused in a box where all my front and rear wheel stuff was, and I have no idea what they were (are) for! Any one know? PHOTO 2 - Another Mystery cropped up the other day when I finally put back the housing under the clutch and flywheel. I noticed there's a gap in the front where the housing meets the rear of the engine block, where part of the front of the flywheel is exposed. That can't be good. There's an empty bolt hole you can see in the picture. But I took that stuff apart so long ago, when I sent the engine to be rebuilt, that I don't remember if anything was there. I certainly have no pieces like that. What have I done? or not?
  6. Can a 6V generator be rewound into a 12Volt?
  7. Beginning reassembly.... In trying to reconstruct the Trans linkage (column shifter) for this semi-automatic marvel, and as usual, wishing I had taken better photos BEFORE I took it apart! Check these pics and see if I have this right. It all feels too loose to me. Is spring backwards? or not quite set right? Can these springs be found if it's just tired?
  8. Great story, and you are so right. They are cool, and they always attract attention and conversation.
