  1. Its looking good. Where did you get the bed kit from, Bruce Horkey's?
  2. Welcome! I am a new member here also and this is a great site. I too have a 52 b3b and i love it.
  3. I have seen pictures and heard that Bruce does an excellent job with his bed products. I have a '52 B3b that had a wood flat bed when i bought it and i've been thinking about buying the parts from him, instead of trying to rehab a used one.
  4. Wow thats really cool, the guy did a great job.
  5. It is all about the little victories, that's what makes it worth it and so much fun. A diesel swap is certainly a ton of work and very expensive, thats what has basically deterred me lol.
  6. Thats not too far from me, i work down in Windsor CT. I've been slightly steered away from the diesel idea because of the cost, i dont have that kind of money right now. Also i want to be able to enjoy my truck and not be working on it forever and never get to drive it. My buddy has an '08 Powerstroke and it sure is quiet, but it certainly makes good power for a stock truck. I have a question, what side is left had thread? I've been trying to take my wheels off and its been a real pain. Thanks -Chris
  7. Hi Greg, I am a relatively new member here as well, i have a '52 B3b and i live near Springfield, MA. I had similar thoughts on swapping in a Cummins, but im really starting to enjoy the old 218. It runs well and the three on the tree still drives well. So more than likely i'll pull the motor and give it a nice tune up and a fresh coat of paint and let her be. I really do love the diesels though, my other trucks an '03 Cummins with some mods done to that. Anyway welcome, this forum is the best so much helpful information and people. -Chris
  8. I had a similar problem on my 52, i took it for a decent drive around town and when i got back home i opened the hood just to check things out. This is when i saw the white smoke coming out of the oil fill tube/cap, i knew that it wasn't a good sign. A month went by and i kind of forgot about the incident but now i've noticed my fuel pump is leaking pretty badly. Im going to order a new one and install and see if it fixes the problem.
  9. Hank, I agree that Bruces work does look very nice and i would love for him to make up a bed for my truck. Its just that the funding isnt there at the moment. So i may just wait and keep saving up so that i can get a high quality piece from Bruce, if i cant find a bed in decent shape. Thank you for your input. Chris
  10. I will contact Jim and see if he still has the bed. Hank, i looked at Horkey's parts and they look like they are really good quality parts. I priced out an entire new bed and it was almost $2000!!! I'm going to keep looking for a used one and then buy parts from Horkey's as need be. Thanks for the help guys, and compliments on the truck! -Chris
  11. Does anybody know of anyone that is selling a bed that would fit my '52? I am having trouble locating one.
  12. Sure i will post some pics of the old girl when im out of work.
  13. Hello Everyone, My name is Chris and i am from Massachusetts, the Springfield area. I recently bought a 1952 B3b Pilot House that had been previously partially restored by the last owner. It is in decent shape the cab portion and frame are rust free and it is in running and driving condition. It is missing the bed, it currently has a flat bed with wooden side rails and wooden deck. I decided to join since this is my first classic truck and i'm sure i have a lot to learn and this is a great place to get started.
