  2. the 40 motor is from a dodge, engine stamped D14-36T59. I looked it up and is listed as 218 for a 40 dodge delux.
  3. I have a 49 B1C, runs but needs motor rebuild. I have the opportunity to buy a 40 car 218 that is rebuilt worth the money. Would like to know if the 40 car moter will work in my 49 B1C? thanks for any help.
  4. good luck on your truck! Nice to see someone else from Missouri. I am located in Kansas city north.
  5. I replaced the tank in my 49 B1C with the tanks inc tank. had to move rear tank mount foreward which only involved drilling to new holes in frame and a small modification to the hole in cab floor where filler tube goes to gas tank. I am very pleased with how it turned out and people at tanks inc were very helpful
  6. thanks for pointing out to me that all dip sticks are not alike. My dip stick is like the lower one in the photograph. it measures 151/4 inches from tip to where the stop is on the one in the photo.
  7. the stop on the dip stick for my 49 B1C is loose. I am in need of a measurement from the end of the dip stick that goes into the dip stick tube to the top of the stop so I can put it in correct possision and tack weld it. Will be very appreciative of any help.
  8. I replaced tank on 49 B1C with Tanks INC 39-47 tank. moved rear bracket foreward, and had new filler tube bent at local muffler shop . cut end for gas cap off and welded to new filler pipe. Very pleased with the way it turned out. Exchanged a few emails with Tanks Inc and they were very helpful.
  9. I replaced the bed wood in my 49 B1C last month. The bed is 54 inches wide and 90 inches long. outside boards were 10-5/8 wide and other four boards were 7-9/16 wide. leaving 1/2 inch between boards this fit perfect on my truck. hope this is of help to you. I searched and could not find deminsions for a 3/4 ton either.
